CC got my dev env set up and running in 20 min. It had to fix my local node setup and a ton of other dependencies. A junior dev cannot do that in 20 days (unless they just asked CC to do it)

That's not even remotely close to true anymore. Agents are far better than any intern or junior developer.

Agents can write good code. If you don't like the way that they write code, tell them to write it differently. Do that until you think the code is good.

Yeah it’s a lot of projection.

Make lots of predictions and write down your thought process (seriously write them down!) once the result is in, analyze whether you were right. Were you right for the right reasons? Were you wrong but had the right thought process mostly?

Do it every day for years.

Sometimes it’s fun. Especially if you have nothing better to do. When I was 25 I worked crazy hours (12h a day easy) because I loved what I was doing, I was learning at a super high rate, and I still had enough time to go on dates/out with friends etc.

Releasing it to users does not take a long time. Randomly select 5% of your user base and give them the feature. If your development process was mature, this would be a button you could push in your deployment env.

The only reason requirements need to be sorted out is because development effort is perceived to be expensive. If you reduce the development effort significantly, then you can just build it instead of talking about building it.

The best way to know if you would like a new restaurant or experience is to actually try it. We rely on reviews and maps and directories because trying it is too costly. If trying it wasn't costly, we would just try it instead of relying on proxies.

Trying things and changing if it doesn’t work is the only way I know how to build software.
