I don't have any demographic information to share. But I personally attempt to rate my files. It gives a nice way to categorize by quality. That way I can have abjectly terrible music in my collection, but filter it out for the purposes of not ever wanting to listen to it.

So you can set up apache to host movies on a home network, then stream them with VLC? That sounds like a fantastic solution. Is there a solution for playing music this way on something resembling a stereo that supports playlists?

I started using Ubuntu in 2005, and fell in love with it almost instantly. It was great for a long time before the slide began. It's sad that this site exists.

If you load a buttload of mp3s on there and / or a small library of movies and tv shows, then 16GB is not that much. Especially once you add in a few hundred photos at 3 or 4MB a pop. And some of the more graphically intense games out now surpass the 1GB mark.

And various social media apps have fairly large local caches. Examples include instagram, tumblr, and vine.

So if you're just using a bunch of cloud services you don't need a lot of space, but not everyone uses their mobile that way.

I don't think that's a good idea. If the director didn't intend for a work to have these immersive lights as part of their work, then you are adding a dimension to it that could change the work's meaning.

E.g. What if you used this with the crazy freakout scene at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey and it totally changed the meaning of the film? Wouldn't that diminish the purpose of the work?

Not really. People need desalinated drinking water to survive.

The linked article lists desalinization as one of the uses.

Right now GApps, which includes things like Play Store, Chromium, Calendar, GMail, etc., doesn't ship with cyanogen because some of the apps are closed source. You can install it separately after the install if desired, and for most folks I assume it makes that phone a lot more useful.

I wonder if cyanogen started to make enough inroads on android's market share if Google would try to make it more difficult to install GApps.

Wow... I had only ever used Craig's List for buying and selling goods. I had no idea there were people raping and murdering each other on there. You'd think that the admins would try to put a stop to that.

Not sure what browser you are using, but Apple apparently doesn't test their site on firefox. It's not the first time I've noticed something broken on their site. Seems pretty lazy when the browser has a 20-30% market share.

This takes silly version names to a whole new level.

I guess it makes sense for an ad company to sell naming rights to some extent, but I can't think of another occurrence of google mixing it's branding like this before. Google historically set themselves apart by keeping ads somewhat separate.
