Not entirely abruptly. The downfall was seen back in 2018. I, like most listeners, simply didn't believe the transmission would end. Like a warm security blanket the signal has been a presence in my life since my earliest days.

I am sad that the actual ending came with a whimper rather than a full-on cross-nation bang. A party to rival that of the final Tragically Hip concert. It certainly should have been handled better. A nation-wide listening party would have been monumental.

TekSavvy is one of the only major wholesale-based ISPs left. I was a happy customer for years but they are wholly dependent on the big providers for the pipes which meant that I had to go with one of the big names to improve my network speeds. If the CRTC forced proper access I would have never left.

On an Intel Mac Mini I've got 4.0 Beta 2 installed the Check Updates doesn't detect anything and on the website there is only an Apple-based Mac option listed. Did they drop Intel support or is that coming later? Or does it matter and it is really a universal package with a poor name choice (and failed update check)?

Perhaps when discussing items of moral importance and life or death judgments it may be of historical/cultural reference but a copyright conflict seems rather out of bounds for such detail.

I absolutely hate how YouTube music doesn't understand that I am using it for music... not music videos.

"Hey Google, play my music" on a Nest Hub in the kitchen so I can listen to something while cooking used to play music - now it often (but not always) insists on running whatever crazy video it found for my tunes.

I simply don't watch music videos. I have no interest in them. I don't like that they joined together my music and misc YouTube clicks together.

I'm now looking for an alternative. I just want what I had before. Listen to music and skip the videos so I can cook in peace.

I don't really like paying extra on a streaming service I'm already paying for. However, I'll be really, really upset if this is a easy-click-to-purchase system that my kids can select. I have profiles for the kids set up but who knows if that'll save me.

I have no interest in paying for this and certainly don't want to deal with this being splashed all over just baiting me (or the young ones) to click.

And yes, he's absolutely correct. Some advertisers such as the big Canadian banks aren't even hiding it now switching from announcing a boycott to a limited-time withdrawal: "Participating brands will suspend all advertising on the platform for the month of July."

Australia is distancing itself as well. I don't expect it will take long before others join in.

But did they really? The problem is that the RCMP now has no credibility. "No we didn't use it" - then caught redhanded with a switch to "Yes, but we saved children".... Sounds a lot like throwing out a reason - any reason at all - to avoid having people discuss that the police are actually directly lying.

Hopefully they really did help some kids out but I simply don't believe them. They got caught in a lie and are frantically searching for a way out. And that really bothers me - I should be able to trust the RCMP but this is just another step in their ongoing pattern.

I have a 3yr old with glasses. Well, sometimes he has them but often he doesn't. Would these work for helping to track/find his glasses? Obviously his frames aren't super large and he's curious so if it isn't secured well it may end up being removed and stuck on a cat at some point but even if it only lasted a few months it could be a god-send for us.

Is this a scenario that would benefit from your product? If so how can I get a pair - even if just to try out for your v2 line. Anything you can do to help relieve the stress of a few parents frantically searching for glasses would be very welcome.

The Gold-Bug also plays a critical role in the Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman. The audiobook series kept my kids (and myself) entertained for a good amount of family trips last year.

And in other Whirlpool news - Dishwasher catches fire "You don't think the appliance filled with water is gonna catch fire". This one needed a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool but, of course, many peopole didn't know about it since the dishwasher often comes with the house they've bought.

LOL. I ended up going overboard on it and actually took them to a store for Teachers' materials and bought some exercise books on Media and Currency/Finances and we've ended up with a bunch of discussions about personal finances, the advertising world, and critical thinking. I'm trying to instil in them the ability to analyze what they see, understand what the motivations of others are and translate that to the messages they receive.

If all goes well they'll understand what ads are and how they manipulate us from a young age and be better able to deal with this crazy world as they grow older. Of course this is a long game - I don't know if I'm being successful yet but I'm hopeful.

As a parent of 3 children and owner of multiple iPads and Android devices (including a kids edition Fire Tablet) this really strikes a chord with me. We buy the Toca Boca and Sago Mini games and the occasional game from other providers that strike the kids fancy.

But this is a huge development. Big enough that I'll be dropping the Android devices and switching my kids over to Apple ones completely. As it is I have lots of conversations with them regarding why some games they see will never be bought by us (like those awful Thomas and Friends ones that you have to buy then still have ads and IAP to put up with).

Thank you Apple. But also, shame on you industry for making this something that I need to specifically look out for.

Proving once again that the quickest way to success is to check with your customers. Rather than a secret build then a big reveal Canada Post could have checked in with some local experts for each dessert to ensure they had the best representation possible.

Bell does this because they know they can get away with it. With barely any competition - and the other 2 companies act the exact same way - they know that people will be pissed but nobody will change carriers.

How is the teenager supposed to know her text is going to the US or is being sent from the US? Maybe she knows where her friends are and maybe she doesn't. In any case this can happen to absolutely anybody at any time. I don't know where my friends may be located at every moment of the day (I guess they take vacations sometimes). And with the constant barrage of spam I doubt I would even believe a random message telling me to pay up.

In Toronto there's a Murdoch Mysteries escape room which has been running for over a year. They've now moved to Casa Loma - an actual Castle in just-out-of-downtown Toronto.

A huge hit for fans of the show (and book) series.

I've been using BitBucket for years because it allowed me to do a free private account. Since then I've set 3 companies up with their own accounts there - the monthly spend isn't huge with any of them but that's money that would have been going to Microsoft had GitHub had a free starter option.

...and RBC still won't let me use Google Pay - I have to download their apps and do tap-to-pay using it. Best part is that all my other cards are in Google Pay so I'm constantly needing to switch the 'default' tap app because of this.

Millions in gov't subsidies, a major bailout in 2009 that saved their company, non-stop threats of closure and ongoing clawbacks of manufacturing. And in the end... up and out.

Obviously it is GM's prerogative and can do as they please but it is time for politicians to stop falling for the folly. Just like your stocks and mutual funds - diversify your industries and don't rely on one big player.

I'm sure they learned more than what they got into in the article. Or I'd hope so since those are some pretty weak "learnings". Of far more interest is examining the driver's actions and behaviours to determine which family member is in the seat and pick up preferences based on that.
