I left my full time job about 3 months ago to start my own software consulting venture. Ive maintained projects from old clients I had on the side, and also created and launched a new project for a client (RN mobile app). Still have to get an online presence setup for the company. Its been going well so far, and I am looking forward to new projects and clients in 2018.

I launched ScrumGenius (https://scrumgenius.com). Its a side project I started for fun at my previous job (it was just a simple slack bot script back then) and decided to actually build a service and launch it a few months ago. I did not take it too seriously at first, I was just using it to learn. However, after reading indiehackers and other people launching products I was really inspired to give it a try. Its been steadily growing and it makes around $300/mo.

Hoping to continue to grow it even more in 2018.

The part about needing sponsorship - Don't you think your form should have a field to reflect this. So that the startups can easily see if the candidates are not in the US and need sponsorship? Without having to view each resume.

How would you get around the restrictive Youtube API? With such rules as having the embed visible?

Could you share what companies you are referring to? Which finance companies use Python? I am soon to graduate and I would like to find something in London that is using Python or C/C++.

I am not if I should start a new thread but if this exact question was asked but instead of a senior dev, a university graduate (with experience in a large company and a startup). What would your suggestions be? (also.. I am located in UK)

Could someone explain what has made this possible to do this now rather than before? Is it V8? What does it give the developer that allows him to be able to debug and trace anything?

Yea it does sound like you are doing a bunch of work arounds, I can now appreciate the development time for this. However, the clean design hides all these hacks :) I assume you had tried the youtube IFrame API etc in the background page etc? But I guess if you were to use that then the elements on the youtube player are there and you don't really need it.

That weighting feature for the radio is gold - its kept me listening since I installed it! I had not thought of that when developing my app (https://github.com/viperfx/ng-juketube), I just used the mix's. I have been using your extension since I installed it, I might have to use this and not my own app :) or improve my one.

One bug I did notice is that videos tend to overlap, what I mean by this is that some videos seem to be smaller so you can see the previous video paused or stopped in the background and the current video playing over it - you notice it because the current video is somehow smaller.

Very nice! I built a very similar web app and in hindsight I should have made it into a chrome extension. Very nice and clean design! The video is laggy for an HTML5 video, however it is not a big issue. Just curious - how does the radio work? are you using youtube mix's?

Yes I am referring to Authentication via Social Auth like Facebook and normal email/pass auth as well. But I am using Django as the backend, not node like most of these tutorials are using.

It would be great if you could share your insights into handling authentication with an API. I am still yet to find a perfect way to do it.

Hey just thought I would give you an update on my progress. I have so far covered pretty much all the client functionality that you had and a few added in myself. The functionality is like I said in my previous comment, where the host is the only one that plays the music, but both host and all clients connected can interact with the player/playlist in realtime and all the data is updated in realtime for everyone connected in that room. I will be uploading to github soon after some more testing :)
