I have a somehow good github having contributed to big projects, have dealt with large scale ruby apps, did a lot of projects and development of backend systems in general but can't find my way to get a _very good job_ outside my country. I already make almost as much as I could with a software engineer role in my country. Would your experience in recruiting help me?

I don't mind even to pay you a plus if you get me a good job or have a lunch with you every 6 months to talk with you what's new because for me that's a big endeavor which I can't seen to reach.

Most of recruiters I've seen are only interested in doing the obvious: find candidates inside their home country and there's plenty of recruiters like this. I think that a recruiter that specializes into recruiting people from overseas(and with success) is going to be of value to any company and with a unmatched differential.

Sorry to sabotage this thread, but I want to be a freelancer.

I have a lot of experience with ruby/rails(have maintained good gems and all that jazz) but I work for a major media company, currently in high scale apps, here in my country and I make about ~$30h/hour.

Does anybody that is in around ~$50/100 hourly rate want to get me aboard freelancing? I would gadly share some of my rate.

I think you are doing fine sir, just stop comparing yourself to others. If you are unhappy -- change jobs. But don't be a slave to other people opinions about how much money you should be making or your job. You'll always be unhappy that way.

I'm a buy & hold stock market investor in companies which have good management, care about the shareholders and of course, good balances.

I use the simple strategy of (1 - my_age)% in the stock market and the rest in fixed income funds(or less risky investments, including some hedge in gold and dolar due the fact that I live in the third world and currency fluctuations happen frequently).

It's funny because even though I work with software development, I don't have much interest about internet companies(read FB, TW and so on). The other sectors in the industry are less of a gamble and I like that.

I've taken different amounts of dosage of piracetam. From very small dosages to high. I frequently had headaches with high dosages which were fixed whenever I took choline with it.

It was for over 2 years so I've probably played as much as I could with it's dosage and the usage of choline with it, but I didn't feel any difference.

It's not like ritalin where it makes u go mad focused and stuff.

Stock market: I'm breakeven in a meh year in my country's stock market(Brazil) and it's my only passive income.

I advise you don't focus too much in dividends but spread it in emerging markets, gold and others.

In the short term it looks like a bad idea, because you could have more income coming from your dividends, but when a crisis or something hits, it's worth it.

The success of the product is way more related to it's market fit, timing and business related things.

Many of the big software products today started out with very messy code. Check facebook old source code as an example.

Just relax man, it's just a job! No matter how much fantasy your brain creates involving your personal issue or about how mad your boss will be, it's expected. People start working, people leave... and nobody notices apart from those who work for the company. It's just another day.

Tell them you have some personal issues and need to leave ASAP.

They also probably had personal issues in their life(who haven't?) and it would be a very stupid reaction to your boss act mad or something like this. Remember this. IF there's any bad reaction from him, ignore and move on. It's not your fault. Don't let them make you think it's your fault.

Brazilian treasure direct is paying around 12% year or 6.5% + inflation rate in Brazil.

Get money in your american bank with a way lower rate and buy it. Beware that if the Real(brazilian currency) loses much of it's value(against your dollar) you would lose money proportionally to it.

But it's a reasonable investment as long as you diversify. There are many respectable US funds that do it.
