Thanks Patrick. I've been trying to use what sounds like a similar approach for a while now and I find it works great... I'm getting more done and feeling more productive. I have a list of my top priorities and work against a stopwatch in 1 hour batches, switching every hour no matter what, going over the top 3 tasks. So, I'm making progress on them all and because of the stopwatch I find I have more of a sense of urgency... I dick about less and am not as easily distracted by email etc (I turn them off). Is working for now anyway.
Looking forward to your next post Renat. Cloud changes everything for open source for sure. The concept of "freedom" changes completely.
If image loading speed is an issue you can embed the image in the html <img src> as a base64 encoded string.... no remote loading then.
That of course is dog ugly ... just say'n it's possible :) An SVG or CSS approach would surely be more maintainable.
Great stuff Trev and team!!
Really slick interface Renat and friends.... you guys have done a lot of work here in a very short space of time!!
That's a really nice idea. How does doing this on the server side effect performance? Maybe ye can cache the result.
Sure... we'll be making it easier to use over time though, with a proper visual mapper etc (and more connectors of course).
We've just a handfull of connectors at the moment - Cloud/Web: MongoHQ, Cloudant, Wufoo, Salesforce, Webhook, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, Logger, Javascript. The thing is however, we'll be opening up the API in the next few days. Then anyone can write a connector and upload it to their own account (will not be visible to other accounts).
Great idea... same would for FB and G+... great chance to use someones profile to get a plug
Impressive. On FoxWeave, we're using Rackspace (at the moment). Fairly sure they don't offer anything like this, which probably means we'll have to use a caching reverse proxy.
Nice post... thanks.
Very cool.
