Remembering from where we came, a decade ago, and where we are now with social media it makes me sooo sad
But I think it is true, private or moderated groups might be the only safe place.
If social media is really a representative view on our society, i feel quite disappointed

I feel there was a time, the good time, when techies and nerds decided the direction of tech development, cause they did it out of curiosity, interested and fun for science and experiments. But this time is long gone. Now the direction of tech is dictated by management and marketing people which have little or no love for the tech itself as for the business model and money it can generate.
What stands out for me here is the bad update quality of android devices. This feature hits, 18 month after it was introduced, the market in the UK . This is quite shocking to me. I expected a delay on average Android devices, but i thought it would be far less.
The idea is going into the right direction but i would also love to see a skyrocketing price for a second car per household. So if i need a car and my wife as well, i would encourage to make the second car around four times as expensive. Also I don't like the weight and size that much cause a functional vehicle like a minivan or pickups or vans used for work reasons shouldn't be punished. A combination out of HP, weight and a functionality factor (roomy family friendly cars and pure or mainly used working vehicles vs big luxury SUVs or small overpowered sports cars) would be a adequate calculation. Also motorbikes would need an adjustment in that level. Nobody can tell me they need a 120hs motorbike for a proper commute. They are just noise pollution.
Why am I sharing this today? Cause today my country overshoots its resources and would everyone act and live like Germany does, we would need three earthes to live on. We need to reduce CO2 by a factor of three in the next year's to be sustainable and being a father and someone how actually loves this planet and humanity for all it wonders and creativity i am terrified by the development it takes. What are your thoughts and where will be in 50years?
I like the author's intention and totally agree in building an as simple as possible solution which solves the problem and evolve from there. This is not a discussion about writing robust and good quality code, for example do we need interfaces or other abstractios in the code, imho. The topic is more about - do we need a micro service architecture in the beginning - do we need k8s - do we need to optimize in ms ranges to serve thousands of concurrent user?
In this context i like to refer to gall's law.
I think Microsoft is really on to smith here. Looking forward how this will play out at the end.
Gmail is doing this for me already for a while now. They are marked as Add but quite well integrated.
