It was possible before, I had used it until last year!

But earlier this year I checked in with some 240 JPY left and found out that I couldn't charge it during the trip... Luckily it was enough for the 2 stations in the Osaka Metro to save me an awkward moment.

I have a similar background. Used Androids from 2010-2018 and switched to iOS.

Some arguments were: Android's capabilities became less over time. I had cool apps until 4.4 Kitkat which automated toggling on/off WLAN/GPS/mobile network among others, but these APIs were restricted more and more over time so the benefits became less.

Another fact was that I calculated that iPhones were cheaper than all Android I owned when taking resale value into the calculation. That Apple gives OS updates for 5+ years helped a lot here, I had experienced <1 year on flagship models before. (buying 2 year old iPhone and selling it at 4 year old was cheapest/year)

But one of the biggest reasons was that I never trusted Google much. For example I never used the feature to use WiFi networks to get coarse location. Which meant worse UX (had to click NO on a dialogue each time I activated GPS) but also a "feature" the iPhone had (better location).

This is obviously a very personal point of view and it might be very different today, as I used Android in its earlier years.

If your mobile only bank account is the only thing stopping you from ditching your iPhone, I would suggest switching your bank account.

Yes, a retail bank might have higher fees. But if spending 10 bucks a month can get you rid of your addiction that's a great deal. They will definitely help you with the transition to gain a new customer.

I tried to jump...

I can't be the only one who unnecesarily jumps around in every game unless it's penalized by some sort of stamina system.

It's not quite 100%, the merchant has costs associated with using cash: The time a cashier has to spend counting the cash register's content, time spent on bank runs to put away earnings/get extra coins for change, some fees associated with it, some amount that gets "lost"...

I remember the cost was less than credit cards take, but not much lower than Girocard payments.

You and we say "after tax", but actually it's after tax, health insurance, unemployment insurance, pension fund and few more peanuts.

There are forms of voluntary payments, but a bonus is not one of them (despite its name). It's range is usually part of the contract.

You can cheat around paying more than the minimum bonus by picking yearly targets (quantifiable like for sales) which are absurdly high.

I never had a bonus, so please take this as 3rd hand information.

These YouTube topics are hilarious, I regularly get the recommendation for the "Pets" topic filled with cooking videos.

But content-wise, it does not feel much different than the usual "recommended videos" section.

Honestly I would criticise if it was 32-bit.

When can I finally get rid of this stupid "Program Files (x86)" folder which annoys me every time I click into the wrong one looking for my program, when even new programs are released as 32-bit?

Swiping input yes, but the implementation of Swype was superior to the others like Swiftkey.

I can't really describe, but it was better at capturing the words I swiped and also handled multiple languages better.
