Ardour is very good and needs more attentions. My respects to the developers, I use it every day, and I am very happy with it and its community. I also like the paying / open source model, and I wouldn’t change it for a proprietary DAW 99% of the musicians use.

I use that CMS since 5 years after a Wordpress burnout, and it has been a very joy to learn and use that CMS. The many websites I developed with Processwire are still in good shape today, and my clients usually find it very simple to use.

You know all those icons because someone, some industry or some culture imposed it to you. Nothing is self-evident. We are constantly learning new symbols to be able to share graphic languages with other persons or interfaces.

I am a daily user of Inkscape and I love this software. Thank you for that version, snapping and multiple pages are incredibly helpful. Earlier in the day, I was about to download a suspicious add-on to batch export images, what a pleasure to find this option in this new version!

No problem for being blasé, we’re surrounded by highdef visuals and sounds. I understand it’s hard to scale back to minimal stuff. And yes the visuals are very dry because it’s actual music notation, everything you see is used to write the music, there is no decoration. Initiator of the project here. Let me add a bit of context: The goal of cascade is to explore and map graphic possibilities offered by the DOM and CSS to sound (positions, nesting, animation, dev tools editing…). That explains the weird results, it is an experimental project mixing live-coding, sound notation and love for web standards, that will never sound like commercial music, as the limitations are important and fundamental to the exploration. I design logos for Bitcoins. Designing a graphic identity can take me weeks, but this particular project is for me an experiment. The logos I design are quickly made: it takes usually 1 to 2 hour per logo. They are totally adapted to the (really) small brief I receive by mail, from total strangers. My clients usually want something smart, quickly. The small economy of those projects are for me interesting and inspiring design constraints. I use only open source fonts. Sometimes, I draw the typeface myself when I feel inspired.

I am graphic designer, Inkscape made me realize that Free software could be also for designers. Now I work exclusively with F/loss on linux. I use Inkscape every day and I am really happy to see this release.

At first I started with a Blogspot with a bunch of cat gifs and a couple of Google ads. Once I earned enough money to buy a domain name for this project, I bought http://catgifpage.com and designed a cheap-but-fun interface for the visitors I targeted.

As I am more a “dog” person, I decided one year (and about 1000€) later to open http://doggifpage.com. It increased a bit my incomes but not so much. As you may know, the Internet loves cats, cats and cats! In 2013, I earned almost 4000€ for about 10 fun hours of gif gathering!

I have some plans for 2014 but I want to keep this project fun and certainly not time-consuming.
