Hi Peter, thanks for doing this. Wife and I are both Canadians. Wife is on a H1B and I'm on TN - separate employers. My 9089 is being reviewed, while she is on labor market test. What is the best path forward to getting GC for the both of us while working? Should we keep going forward with this setup and whoever can file for I-485, add the spouse to beneficiary?

every layoff survivals make me more soul-less towards my day job. I could not agree more. I stopped buying into the bs mission north stars and short phrase missions. I just do my work and shut off.

Thanks... I'm doing exactly that! I'm depressed at the fact that I don't enjoy leetcode but for job security, it must go on.. Maybe I'm not cut out for SDE? not sure...

I suggest you to speak to a mental mentor. I never thought of doing it but recently did and it helped me.

I have a friend who went through similar. I've known him about 10 years now. Trust me it gets better over time. He did move to another state(province in Canada) though.

compare yesterday's you vs today's you. comparing yourself to others is a losing game, often detrimental. I'd consider moving away from the current place of living and reorganize your thoughts.

Interviews suck as SDE and it's projected to get worse. I'm not happy with that. This means we have to leetcode forever until we die. (I know there are jobs that don't leetcode test you but, still, I'm talking about big corps.)

Very Bad.

* Preparing to work/move to US from CA (as a Canadian) as a SDE with 10yr exp

* Grinding Leetcode (quit hobbies to do so)

* Improving but not at the pace I want

* Failed easy-medium coding test at $SHOP

* Demoralized, rethinking career choice

* Thinking when I can stop leetcoding..when I eventually stop being SDE?

* Thinking about what happiness is

* Met with mental health mentor for the first time. Cried. Not b/c of Leetcode but b/c of future suffering of immigration yet again. (I usually don't cry)

* Grinding Leetcode again during work

* Fear of failing yet another interview

* Exhausting thinking leetcoding forever

* Envy other jobs that doesn't test you with riddles on interview
