It would seem these structural barriers are increasingly become either more porus or more malleable as AI has brought more OSS legal initiatives to empower both attorneys and regular users. The Law and lawyers are being dragged kicking and screaming into e/acc.

This is my reflection as well. I find myself spending MORE time reviewing LLM-generated code and also spending time thinking through LLM generated choices, which, at many times are inefficient or bloated. Keeping the LLM on the right rails takes up more time, even with lengthy agent.md and claude.md files to manage behaviors.

I have always wanted to learn Rust, but was too distracted to get started.

So, I started working with Claude on building a postgres database replication application. I'm learning Postgres internals as well as how brittle database replication and subscription can really be. Although this is for Seren, you can replicate between any PG databases. https://github.com/serenorg/postgres-seren-replicator

Big learning: Claude Sonnet with Rust is massively productive. I'm impressed, but code bloat is a thing.

Our small team at Seren just launched a landing page and chatbot to talk about agentic databases and see what developers are thinking about them. There is a feature request button that pushes feature ideas to github. Give it a shot if you got a few minutes. We are building on an OpenSource Postgres version for AI agents and are curious what HN is thinking about features.

My particular interest in this project was that if the many interviews I explore for a job end in rejects, then at least maybe I might get paid a referral bonus as a sourcer for the job. After spending 6 hours onsite and getting denied, seems only fair to get paid if I can help source?

Wow. So umm..Where's the discussion about the marketing operations? Ermm, if your positioning is "FREE", then ermm....you MAYBE have a prospect communication problem reflected in your sales failures, not just a sales problem due to a VP of Sales role req.

Why do sales people keep making this mistake over and over again? Marketing is just as important to prepare the funnel as sales is important to close the deals. Why is the CEO not calling his marketing team to task or why is he not calling himself to task for lack of an integrated sales AND marketing operation?

I love Yesware for B2B sales. I just don't pay for it because my Salesforce.com and Marketo marketing teams are grinding out marketing comms and engagement events that make my head spin and extract $10K/month budgets from my marketing budget. I've yet to hear from the Yesware marketing team. A webinar maybe?

A very busy space. The true demand is that you have lots of passive talent signing up. These folks are highly valued, but it's not clear how you get passive seekers (who aren't interested in moving unless they get excited) to make a change. Active seekers are already in the ATS' of ALL your recruiting companies. They aren't that valuable. So, you have lots to do here.

Your competitors at Hired.com and elsewhere are investing big money to compete to move passives into active mode. I wish you the best of luck, but competition here is brutal and it's not clear what your unique value proposition or edge is here.

Lastly, "anonymous job searches" is the way of the passive seeker, but it's very hard to get them to make a decision. The chain of interaction requires much more ways to engage than their filling out a few boxes on what they do and where they live/email. If you could bring to the surface things that passives like but will not reveal to just anyone, you may be able to create an edge. However, it's tough meng. It's tough out there for a recruiting platform.
