Used to work in International Dev for a ecom company, and India was a serious target. We ended up going elsewhere because of delivery infrastructure and local competitors, that free delivery is going to be a huge advantage.

I love this! Simple, and can create meaningful and lasting connections.

I am using it as a way to tell the story my sister and her fiancee, as I am officiating their wedding. I have been struggling with what to say for months, and finally, by assembling the family's stories here and using this as a framework, I am starting to make some headway.

Thank you Storyworth team, this is truly something meaningful and beautiful that you have created here.

I of course agree that you find problem before product, and find it unfortunate that many R&D shops and Universities are engineered the other way around. Luckily for my friend they've actually found success using this platform in education, specifically teaching autistic children, as well as in film (and animation) for storyboarding.

My friend is turning his PhD research into a visualization app that creates images from the text you enter, he's at wordseye.com. Glad to hear that other people are excited about this area.

I spent some time in Japan studying different forms of meditation, mostly Rinzai zazen on Koya-san, and find it to be quite beneficiary for high pressure jobs. I also find meditative activities to be a nice supplement or more social form of meditation. I especially like the long walks (I'm a big fan of the walk and talk meetings) and various athletic actives (like surfing or climbing) that force you to empty your mind and focus.

The major problem I see from data driven decisions is the lack of logical failsafes for causation versus correlation. I think you'd have to know more about the waste disposal landscape for this particular anecdote to be able to draw these suppositions about individual restaurant compliance.

I think this article is focused around a fundamental change of user behavior that I don't see happening. The glass to be is a phone replacement, where the same rules and concerns about phone usage are projected onto the glass. Are we going to wear them in class? Do we allow students to wear earbuds in class?

Grace under pressure: very valid points from a promising startup. In-stream payment is definitely something I see catching on with the next generation of devices, google glasses integration makes alot of sense to me.

I've been experimenting with text summarizers, but the content of email is so subjective that it is hard to make a meaningful summary. Anyone have experience/thoughtspace in this area?

Would love HN wisdom! We're using Twitter to build an NLP app, and everyday we're wondering if they will just pull the plug on us. We have a friend at Twitter in Ops: ask permission or forgiveness?

Beautiful use of skrollr, it is amazing how the design first philosophy of Brian has created a new standard for marketplaces.
