A major technical failure at LuxTrust—Luxembourg's state-backed certification authority—has disrupted authentication systems across the country since Tuesday afternoon. Hey, this is actually something I have a keen interest in as I'm fighting my government (as an MP) to drop those scammers where possible. Do you have any media links to send me about them selling the "good hours" on the black market?

Even if the US has a horrible visa system – as I can attest, despite only having to do it every 5 years – the EU countries could benefit from attracting talent by being more welcoming. So that is part of my mission as an MP and tech-entrepreneur. Any help and pointers is welcome.

Don’t tell the Luxembourgish government, they still use Whatsapp (seriously) for communication (some also use Signal et al.) but not a majority. And I personally use it amongst other things to communicate with whistleblowers ;)

The initial confirmation was an oral one during a committee meeting. They also confirmed it to the press. (Cf luxtimes.lu behind a paywall)

As an MP in Luxembourg I asked the gov’ for confirmation and they confirmed that they were at the origin of the request. Currently I’m waiting on more details as to how many requests our tiny nation made to different messenger services abroad.

This looks like a problem we recently solved for driving schools in Luxembourg that needed to track a lot of data about students for legal and internal reasons.

I'd be very interested in discussing the needs for a compliance and documentation tracker system and see if there is a market for it.

This is an idea I also considered, given that in Europe the software is similarly awful, but at least the guy (yes, the one guy) here is still doing some improvements.

If one would like to do something in this space I'd go with a solution where you can rent the equipment, get it shipped to you in boxes and ship it back later. For larger organisers you could arrange for leasing options or an on-premise installation that has an auto-update.

The advantage would be to provide offline capabilities including a controlled network environment for adjudicators.

Why not start with a smaller country like Luxembourg. We are currently running in elections and want to make of Luxembourg a privacy save heaven. We have a pretty good chance of making it into parliament and every support helps!
