Virtually every website has infinite scrolling and algorithms that tailor the feed directly to what "appeals" to the user now. It's all just drip-feeding dopamine to the user base so they stay engaged for the longest possible time.

IMO LLM writing hasn't significantly improved since maybe GPT4. It still does the exact same "It's not x, it's actually y" tropes and many of the other common LLM smells. Most LLM generated text is immediately discernible as such.

Here in Germany meat alternatives/substitutes have definitely reached a level of popularity that goes beyond a fad. The leading commercial producer of deli-meats has started producing vegetarian and vegan alternative products that now make up more than 60% of their annual revenue and they even dropped some of their original meat based products in favor of the plant-based alternatives.
It might not be the burger that's going to be replaced but sliced meats and other meat based products might be.

Another time I bought a Samsung Fold and it cracked down the middle. I told Amazon and they said they'll refund it under warranty. I sent it back and got a warning that if I return anything else in "non original condition" I'd be banned. Even though it was a warranty return.
I once ordered a new pair of Jeans, expensive ones because I wanted them to last, from Amazon and got an obviously used and ripped pair sent to me.
I sent it back, noted that in my reason for sending it back only to receive an email from them with the same sentiment as you got. Luckily I kept all the receipts (figuratively) and took a lot of photos and screenshots.
Reaching out to support they apologized profusely to me but still it left a very bad taste in my mouth and I'm sure it'll happen again sometime in the future.
I understood it less as an attempt of improvement and more as an alternate version of the same shot. Where you see more of Aldrin and other smaller bits that were less visible in the original and rightfully iconic shot.
I also use a MacBook as my daily driver, but have used different ThinkPads for years and there is no way that that workload should bring any medium specced TP to its knees like you're describing.

After having used the IntelliJ/PyCharm spellchecker for German quite extensively I can only attest to this. It's so much more than just checking is a word is spelled correctly.
On the other hand, I did use Grammarly for a while and ultimately became annoyed at its tendency to keep "re-adjusting" sentences after it had already fixed them, so there is a fine line to walk.
I have a v12 and I couldn't be happier. Best cordless vacuum I've owned. Had an aeg before that was about half the price. But it sucked.

This reminds me how Klarna fired their a large part of their customer support department to replace it with ai, only to eventually realize they couldn't do the job primarily using ai and had to rehire a ton of people.
I had a manager and mentor who was a fan of me. It felt amazing having someone who is actually rooting for you. Him cheering me on and giving me constructive feedback and building me up in a way no one did before that has fundamentally changed my professional and private personality, hopefully in a good way.

It's funny how every time this topic comes up someone says "I've had this happen and x is the worst" With x being any of the big AI providers. Just a couple minutes ago I read the same in another thread and it was Anthropic. A couple weeks back it was Meta.
My conclusion is that they're all equally terrible then.
