There is a new trend of full-page slide that scrolls but without the scrollbar. I'm seeing a lot of this type websites lately. Though I love the classic scrollbar.
Sometimes people/institution even become aggressive when they get information that is completely opposite of what they believe, Galileo was convicted of heresy because he believed that the Earth revolves around the Sun, which was just opposite of what Catholic Church believe.
Though this kind of rigidity hinders our progress but there is another side of the coin. This is the sole reason that keeps us happy in everyday life. If we take into consideration each and every information's then our life will become a hell for sure. We can't take veggies and fruits, mostly toxic due to the preservative used; can't use car/bus as its harmful to the environment, can't even eat a burger or coke, leads to obesity. I think it's better to have the gift of avoidance though rigidness should be avoided.
Its not directly the answer of the question but relevant. I believe unaddressed/overlooked problems are the greatest origin of a potential startups but not what we think an legitimate idea, actually is. For the 1st time every idea seems awesome, take time revisit after a few days, you will wonder that most of the sparks are gone by now. If it still looks promising start doing your research. This is another eliminator of an unique idea. Though it doesn't have to be unique. But you should bring your own flavor into it.
I can't see any good reason why you need to switch, your team mates are not 'toxic' and I believe pay is also fine. So why you want to switch? I agree sometime we need to switch for better carrier growth but when going to a new environment, there are chances that you have to adjust. Transitions phase in most cases are difficult. One last advice, don't switch only for money, job is and should be much more than that.
Have a different view on this,fb is a publicly traded company, its not only man (Zuckerberg) show. Though Mark got supreme power but I'm sure its not him behind every single decision. But if we talk about a single company having so much data, that's a threat for sure. As it's not in our hand we can just expect fb to understand, with great power comes greater responsibility.

Depends on how much time you want to spend behind that. The depth of information's you want to have, can be achieved via data scraping techniques but does it worth it? Question yourself.
Web becoming much like the economy where there are big players who control the web and others who are shouting for equality. There is another group, largest amongst these three, almost 90% of general population, who don't bother/understand and go with the wind.
With big data come into the scene, things get out of hands as these "big guns" are on a spree to collect more and more of our personal details. IOT is another thing that will surely make situation much worse, as they are meant to be our personal assistance, we are allowing them to learn our behavior and act accordingly.
When we see an advertisement related to our 3days earlier search, it's not the ad that is get promoted instead we are getting sold.
I don't think all the things discussed are still relevant as it's a fairly old post. Also, "best practices" are not always best depending on the scalability of the problem itself.
Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I like your idea to show very few on home page and providing a link to browse all other. Though these are all add-ons(paid), our base product WC Marketplace is a totally free WordPress plugin. We believe if we can increase user base of our base plugin then automatically sale of our paid addons increase. That's why most of the CTA redirects to WordPress site to promote downloading our plugin.

(By learning I presume "talking" mainly) In my opinion, the best way is to learn by practicing it, if possible with native speakers. That will improve both fluency and pronunciation.

There is also an awesome app I used sometime earlier, it's called "Memrise". Memrise is a very good app for increasing vocabulary. There are a ton of courses to learn from and some of them even provide pronunciations.

Apart from that, it's a good looking mess where most of the things aren't relevant especially the pictures used.
As there are lack of information on the 1st and 2nd fold, most of the traffic might leave before proceeding any further. Scroll jacking is just killing your site. Also for better conversion try to give one CTA on each fold.
About content, think who are your target audience and what you want to showcase them, accordingly write your content.
