Out of curiosity, what was your workflow to generate this comment? I’m curious what model (claude?) and process (manual prompt with bullet points?) you used.

I don’t think it’s meant to be criticism. It’s an interesting piece of information that gives a peek into how those with vision impairment consume content. There’s nothing wrong with it; but it was enlightening to consider the experience for those of us who have not been forced to.

Would you recommend reading the book first?

Experimental Design

We recruited 108 senior volunteers through two organizations: a large seniors’ community in southern California and a seniors’ computer club in northern California. Participants agreed to participate in a behavioral study on emails. Each person received between 1–3 emails from different email templates, with content successfully generated through various jailbreaking techniques similar to those tested in the safety guardrail evaluation. Each email contained a unique URL, and our webserver tracked which links were opened. When participants clicked on the phishing links, they were immediately directed to a web page explaining they had participated in a study, where we asked them to answer follow-up questions. Several participants agreed to be interviewed afterward to provide additional insights into why they clicked and their experiences with phishing attempts.

I have cameras and and a smart doorbell so I know if someone is at the door. This plus in-app notifications handles food delivery for me.

You can also set up a shortcut to toggle the setting. There’s been a couple times when waiting for a callback where I turn the setting off. Then when I get the call I switch it back.

Ultimately, for me, the pros far outweigh the cons. But you have to make the decision for yourself.

This 100%. iPhones have a feature to do this automatically. It doesn’t even ring, and goes straight to voicemail if they’re not in your contacts. It’s so freeing!

ideally things go perfectly all the time, but people sometimes make mistakes. what would you rather they do? pass on the candidate because they didn’t get enough data to support a hire? or give them more chances to demonstrate their capabilities?

but that’s kind of the thing with threads. no matter how curated my follow list is, my feed is filled with the type of content the OP calls out. there’s no “following-only” feed.

I had the same thought. Is fixing typos not contributing? Should I not be submitting PRs to help with documentation/polish/etc? I never even thought that trying to help would be viewed as malicious.

Did you see the UI to change it? It is in the top level menu. Looks very easy to find and adjust.

This used to be true. As of 2017 or 2018, it is no longer a bidding system, but a published price that AWS offers based on capacity.

Didn’t know about Tapback support on Android. Wish iOS had that support for non-iMessage chats!

I think the point I want to stress is that when everyone uses iMessage, it’s as easy as texting, but just about as good as WhatsApp/etc. from a feature/user experience point of view.

Agree that we can be friends. Hopefully my comment wasn’t seen as adversarial. I just get annoyed when I see the green text bubbles, because people try to use iMessage features and it’s just bad. Non-techies don’t realize it’s different because it’s the same app, but then wonder why photos aren’t high resolution, or things don’t work as expected.

I think maybe your idea of “fine” differs from mine. It is a much worse experience than iMessage.

1. No threading is supported. If you reply, it duplicates the message being replied to.

2. “Tapbacks” (reactions) duplicate the message being reacted to with “so-and-so likes message … message”

3. Photos are reduced to a size that fits in MMS (very low quality)

4. Videos look like postage stamps

5. The chat cannot be renamed or have a photo added

6. Members cannot be added or removed without starting a new group (conversation)

7. No message effects

There may be others, but this is off the top of my head.

It might be cool to use this API to temporarily unblock a domain in use by the current site. Might require a browser extension, but is it possible?
