A comment I made earlier in this conversation has been downvoted a few times. People are choosing sides and using their votes in attempt to silence voices that question the Trump regime. Fortunately, I have plenty of karma to burn.

True. However, I think it’s important to note that the governor refused to be intimidated and continued mocking Trump on social media. I don’t always agree with Newsom’s politics but I sure like the fact that he reuses to bend the knee to Trump.

A rich eats three meals a day, just like everyone else. They may eat nicer food, but they do t consume that much more than the average person. Indeed, the rich tend to hoard their wealth, removing it from the economy while the average person spends most of the money they earn.

Taxing the billionaires is a net plus for any economy.

What about the doom and gloom that people are living? Low wages, expensive housing, unstable employment, and crappy medical care do not fill people with optimism.

At what quality? Most frameworks are paid by amount harvested so they bust their asses to pick all that fruit. What’s the motivation for prisoners to do more than the bare minimum? Related question, what will the other inmates do to the inmate who works much harder than everyone else?

I follow the HN raw RSS feed, so I see a lot of articles that don’t make the front page. I find that pretty much any article that refers to trans people is flagged. Many — not all — articles that are show the Trump regime or Musk in a negative light are likely to be flagged.
