That makes me suddenly way more interested in the upcoming redesign of the Pro laptops. I don't care about pretty much anything else that is gossiped about, but a reperaible design would be sweet

I wonder if gas in the name is a reference to a natural gas given that it powers so many of the new AI data centers

and the people that believe it tend to be also very happy to be exposed to biological weapons running wild
I've paid for a month! Now letting subscription lapse. ChatGPT-4 is still garbage
ChatGPT burns quite a lot of energy. We need less of LLMs, not more
We need passive building cooling like:

AC won't scale
And tech carries out churning out artificial intelligence systems that consumes way more energy than genuine human intelligence while being worse off at the same tasks most of the time
"Improving in non backwards compatible way" sounds like "deteriorate"
IMO key is the cost of shelter. In all the desirable locations with good jobs the cost of accommodation rises so much that even well earning middle class in uncertain of their future. There is a number of key services and goods everyone needs: somewhere warm to sleep, some food, and healthcare. If people weren't constantly worried that they will lack this the whole nonsensical piramid of useless work would fall apart and everyone would be much happier
we have a choice to reduce economic activity in the controlled or uncontrolled way. sadly it seems we have to have tons of unrepairable electronics replaced every year and downfall of the civilization or it's "communism" aka ultimate evil
by burning give amounts of energy and speeding it up
is anyone using 1Password 8? I thought everyone are still on 7
Chrome extension? - 'uBlock works best on Firefox'
But how will capitalism survive without private companies stealing whats public?
Belgium is making it obligatory from later this year, including gyms, restaurants, bars, etc
resale value? Maybe this is one of the reasons iPhones have generally higher resale value than Android phones
How similar/different is it to AWS Aurora?
Is it the same newspaper that didn't publish a commissioned book review because it wasn't favourable enough and the editor was friends with the author of the book?
Can someone explain to me whats missing from Firefox feature or stability wise? I'm now using Chrome at $NEW_WORK and I can't see the single reason why I would prefer it. The only other time I've launched Chrome in the last 5+ years was to use some Google services like Stadia
Killer Firefox features for me are: sending pages to another browser to act on later on (and I use it a lot) and plugins in the Mobile Firefox.
I'm one of the people affected. Over the years I've created multiple accounts most with multiple aliases on top of that. I would have a separate account for recruiters and job hunting, separate one for logging into sensitive accounts, separate one for each of the countries in which I've spend more time, etc, etc
Now I would need to start spending ~$90 + VAT (?) per month to keep this setup going. Anyone with a similar situation? Any services you could recommend to migrate to?
Anyone remembers similar in style animation/explorable that was about forming of the groups? It talked among other things how groups become stronger by turning against outsiders/other groups
And revolut?
Now that I'm out of my 20s I wouldn't want to be interviewing at almost any startup, anywhere in the world.
I'm now wiser. Startup culture is toxic and I prefer to stay away ...
