China banned NBA for misinformation? Should NBA comply?
you know nothing about the censorship conduced by the Chinese government.
Bytedance can comply to US’ requirement of untying CCP. but a simple google search tells the truth

As a Chinese, I want someone be tough on The new Hitler, I don’t care if Volkswagen is caught in the middle.
The GFW of China is to prevent its people to see outside. The GFW of America, at least for now, is to prevent China from peeking in. One is implemented as an allow list, the other one is a deny list.
You can try saying something negative about Xi in China and count how many minutes before it gets deleted. And try the same on Twitter against Trump.
You will see the difference.
I have lived in China till I was 20. I saw the difference.
There is no clear boundary between the good and the bad. There are shades of gray.
But there is certainly differences between North Korea and say Iceland.
Trump may be a rogue. But it takes a rogue to fight a bigger rogue.
The U.S. mindsets doesn’t apply to the Chinese government.
Chinese government has banned countless things from the world for one reason. They believe those things will jeopardize their ruling.
They had banned fb, Twitter, bullied google, youtube, because if Chinese citizens criticize the government on those platforms or see the truth, they will have no good control. They fear their own people more than anything else. Do they care about people’s privacy ? Especially with that intense surveillance? Is any high tech data worth protecting if the data was stolen in the first place?
Will an electronic car jeopardize their ruling?
Making a p2p message board such that outbreaks like this can’t be censored by Chinese government anymore.
In your situation, I would follow his order exactly, do the minimum and let him be the firefighter.
I wouldn’t follow a non-technical manager if I have a choice. I tried it once, it’s a shitty experience. It’s hard to build trust between us. He simply didn’t trust/understand what I said. There were always a pair of eyes watching me. The conversation and management overhead is very high.
I probably wouldn’t hire them if I were the boss. They don’t add value to the project much.
The mandarin part is in a female voice. Making a voice that doesn’t sound like him using AI seems to be a overkill. They could have used dubbers.
I have open source deep learning projects on GitHub. Should I be worried?
California, Brazil and Australia. I have lost my hope. Next summer, there will be more. Nothing can reverse the damages made by humans. The only way seems to be reducing population to a sustainable level.
Basically pretend to be a mindless cooperative citizen and say nothing in public and only be the true self in front of family and friends in private.
We should not, they will abuse it.
I tried it. And I was disappointed. I saw Yoshua in the advisor list and thought the AI must be strong. But it’s very weak.
During the intro, it mentioned supervised learning. I therefore asked what supervised learning is. It said please focus on the current exercise.
Then I had to finish the exercise. It asked the question: what revolution is ai compared to? I typed “industrial revolution “ and passed. But I don’t understand why this conversational ui is better than a simple selection? Because industrial revolution is a long word to type.
In the following section, I clicked “I have a question “ and then the ai said I could choose from a list of 5 or so questions to ask.
Among them there was “what’s unsupervised learning?”
Again I typed “what’s supervised learning?” It said I should focus on the questions it provided....
I attended a talk by a successful Chinese entrepreneur who sold his company after only three years. We asked him why he sold it so early. He said there is no pure businesses (especially when you become big) in China . There are only “political businesses”. Everyone has to work with the government and plays dirty in order to survive. So he wanted out.
To be honest, as a Chinese, I don’t believe the claim that Huawei has no government ties. But I don’t think it’s what Huawei wants.
Should people with alcohol addiction sue alcohol businesses? Should people with obesity sue fast food? Under what circumstances should we blame it on lacking self control or gut bacteria or not having acetaldehyde dehydrogenase gene mutation? Being a gaming addict, I want to sue video game companies to get some free games.
A few < 10
Several >= 10
I am worried about screen sharing. Who knows what I could browse at work. I don’t want to mistakenly share my credit card number.
Don’t reproduce.
I feel sorry for those who did labeling for this company’s AI algorithm.
Donate money to charity please. Don’t give money to this scumbag.
Leetcode is a disease. I know many people memories answers and test cases.
I can’t understand dev.to ‘s aesthetic taste. It’s only a bit better than Craigslist.
Nothing. China has been fooling its people by redirecting its inner conflicts to foreign countries. Whenever there is a protest, the government will create conspiracies that foreign governments were behind them. They justify their ruling by saying they are the defenders against foreign invasion. Stay out of it. Don’t give them excuses for what’s happening. It will collapse from the inside.
I would quit right away and launch a similar product.
Food production/ consumption also emit (way more) carbon dioxide. Why is it right to fulfill one kind of desire, and wrong to fulfill another? The fundamental problem is over population. And porn watching is alleviating it.
I have a hard time understanding why investors like these types of companies? Is there even a profitable example? Maybe they can still make lots of money from an IPO... how are they difficult from scammers?
I hate it very much, the city is dirty and chaotic, feeling unsafe. The commute was soul crashing, food is expensive. Can’t understand why startups like it. The South Bay is much quieter, you can focus better.
