Strikes me as an opposite of the Uncanny Valley.

I'm not sure how this math checks out.
1lb of fat is roughly 3500 calories. Given 500 calories a day of excess, that would lead to 1lb of fat gain per week. 52 pound average gain per year?
Bose's QC/QC Ultra lines continue to receive praise for comfort, durability, sound quality, noise cancellation, etc. They make pretty great consumer quality headphones.
Until quite recently, they were widely one of if not the most recommended wireless headphones. The new Sennheiser's that come with a USB-C dongle might have finally stepped past what Bose has been delivering, but at a higher price.
My only experience is BMW EV, but my i4 aggressively prioritizes regeneration over using the brakes. It even has an energy meter that shows negative/positive energy flow. The positive flow is blue until the actual brakes engage where it changes to black. And this is in two pedal mode, one pedal driving is even more aggressive about regen.
I would not doubt I use my breaks 1/20th of the amount that our X5 or Silverado use theirs.
68lbs over 9 months for me on Tirzepatide. No exercise (I should, but I'm traveling an absolute ton right so consistent exercise hasn't been prioritized).
I've had pretty good results on Tirz, definitely interested in how Reta will compare.
It still is odd that Jane has been illegally parking for 2 decades and the moment Joe does it, he's called out on it while she isn't.
IBM Mainframes have these capabilities. But yes, they're quite expensive.
What percentage of people reading HN do you think are actively contributing to WINE source? I'm going to go out on a limb and claim less than a tenth of a percent. And that, to me, is probably 10-100x too high of a threshold.
We hold you singularly responsible for the eventual failure of the Voodoo3/4/5 and Nvidia domination.
I am with you. I could also never see the hidden image things. Been trying for 40 years.
Some people get caught up in "maximization". Everything must be efficient, and use every moment of your time, and be commensurately compensated so as to profit maximally.
Your approach flies in the face of that, but you don't care! I happen to love that stance and applaud your ability to recognize the enjoyment/comfort in it. You enjoy what you do, but don't seek to attempt to make it more than it currently is.
Low carb/keto also had dramatic effects on frequency of migraines/headaches for myself. CPAP however, has been even more life changing in that regard for myself. From headaches 4-7 days of the week to fewer than 1 per week.
Some confounding variables on diet/weight loss/sleep quality. But I don't care, things are better and I'm happier for it.
I read it (the full 4 book series) as a teen prior to 2000. Very different experience! One of my favorite reads of all time.
Similarly, there's also Rudy Kurniawan, who was a wine counterfitter. Went to Federal prison, deported, and now is in demand to produce wine again in Asia because of how good he was at it.
Very similar named peak in Glacier National Park - Triple Peak Divide. Water can flow to the Pacific, Atlantic, or Arctic oceans.
Prednisone can be a real doozy for some people along those lines. Anywhere from mild hunger all the way to rabid, unchecked hunger.
Very individualized. I have drastically better gut health, skin health, energy when on a low carb diet for an extended duration.
Maintaining that diet for an extended duration, however, is always the challenge when others in the household do not follow it. Logically, I should stop being a baby and just power on with it. Or at least determine what in my "normal" western diet negatively impacts gut health/skin health and overall energy.
Have you done any experimentation with pre/pro-biotics? Just wondering if your fasting adjusted your gut biome, but now as you've resumed whatever diet that biome is being modified based on the fuels available to it.
Honestly, I'd bet there are a variety of delivery models that would be most effective for each person. Having choice in that would really be amazing. Unfortunately, its also very hard to organize and measure.
I was going to comment that free loans and inefficient/outsized admin go hand-in-hand. On further thinking if you take away the loans, the admin has no choice but to shrink and achieve higher efficiencies.
Wife and I played Obduction last year and really enjoyed it. She may have known, but I had no idea it was a Cyan game. Or I'm getting old and forgetting that I did know.
Just heard about Firmament, I guess we have another game to add the the "Winter Doldrums" playlist.
How can you be so certain there is 0 chance LLMs lead to AGI/Superintelligence? Asking curiously, not something I've heard prior.
Every Mach-E or F-150 Lightning in my area is minimum 70k. Packages and markups run away from base MSRP very quickly.
Which is fine to mention, but isn't applicable to a discussion on iPhones. 15 Pro is the first version to support USB 3.0 speeds over USB-C.
This depends on lift frequency, the lift itself, etc.
In general, for a compound lift (squat/bench/deadlift/overhead press) most would consider newbie gains exhausted once you can no longer linearly add weight/reps on a weekly basis (assuming a normal weekly schedule). This is the point when various forms of periodization (waving weight/reps/frequency up/down in many possible ways) need to start to support the increase of weight/reps over time.
I, too, miss silence. My tinnitus is in one ear and is like a roar of cicadas/grasshoppers with an extra harmonic an octave above that that gets louder as my environment gets louder. Then unfortunately stays at the elevated volume for a good duration afterwards.
Well, that is not quite true at the State level. There are a number of States who have implemented laws that punish transmission of HIV/STDs knowingly. I'll concede there doesn't exist anything at the Federal level that I am aware of.
Especially after the Mick Gordon/Doom Eternal situation.
Boats are just holes in the water you throw money into.
Campers, I actually agree with you and that's as someone on his second purchase. But, my agreement comes in the form that I believe everyone should baby step their way in. Tent camp at an improved campground (meaning, at least a toilet onsite. Plumbing very optional and probably not happening). If your crew enjoy it, then it makes sense to step up but I'd still go small. Small towable/travel trailer. By that point, you'll know what you want/need.
