Different folks have different levels of acceptable risk. I generally agree, and won’t install an app for every single one-time purchase, but I eat a lot of Taco Bell. The app makes sense for me. Many other companies also have web interfaces so you don’t NEED to install an app. (Many restaurants/bars that have a Qr Code on the table act this way.)

At this point, if you're using any Meta product, that's on you.
Yet somehow we all survived before smartphones. If you have a question and raise your hand to ask, everyone else benefits from getting the answer as well.
Why would anyone even consider ever buying hardware from Meta? Look at their list of killed products or how quickly they EOL previous models. No thanks! I hope they get sued for contributing to e-waste.
I wouldn’t say Biden stuck to his word. He fully intended to run, until people (rightfully) objected. I’m glad he ultimately backed down and stepped down. But this whole process would have been easier to nominate a real candidate if he would have stuck to his word from the beginning. He still deserves the blame for that, even if his most recent actions were correct.
Until hopefully this becomes more common and more people win suits like this. Then maybe Meta will finally fix their problems.
This is why I refuse to buy hardware from software companies.
Facebook Portal, I’m looking at you.
Cool. Do Facebook next.
That number is way too high. Car accidents from human drivers happen way more frequently than that.
I suspect this will lead to a decrease in ad quality. Showing worse ads will result in a little green bar for increased number of paying users, and the overall quality of the newsfeed will continue it’s death spiral.
