Correct, it speeds up latency in best case scenario, and falls over in worst case scenario. Randomly sharded keys give a more consistent performance.

Yes but if that machine with sequential data receives 100x the traffic of other machines, it can be worse than splitting this traffic evenly across all available machines.

“Creating jobs” only makes sense if funding those jobs provide actual value that wouldn’t exist otherwise. You can “create jobs” by making people dig holes and fill them up, but you’re just wasting your population’s productive time - you would be better off by just giving those people money for nothing, some of them might just do something useful in the newly created free time.

It’s good UX - presumably most users want to turn off WiFi/bluetooth temporarily when using these buttons and this saves you from forgetting to turn it back on. I was delighted when they changed.

I agree it’d be nice to have a choice for how it works on your device, but current behavior would still be a good default.
