Many YC founders have used them before. It works because all of their mentors/coaches have built 7-8 figure businesses themselves.

I don't think offering discounts is going to attract customers. IMO, it signals low confidence in your offering from your end.

Ideally, the mentor is: 1. an exited founder / growth expert with bragging rights 2. empathetic and open to pro bono mentoring for 4-5 hours a month
