I've built cool stuff and awesome systems so I don't need fluff.
What took you so long?
The huge problem I see here is their buttons looks exactly like the "Like" button and could be confusing to Facebook users into thinking their official Facebook buttons/features.
irc ? 2012 ? .................................
Wow.. This is waiting for a C&D from Facebook. To me, this is a blatant abuse of their trademark.
There's no cursor for mobile devices so whatever you think works only works for a percentage of users.
With the amount of downloads that they are publicizing "60 millions", I find it hard to believe that they are still in "growth" stage?
User retention is probably the biggest problem they have now and if that is not squared away, no way can they ever monetize or be profitable.
At version 3.0 and no clear indication of how they are able to monetize their "network".
And Bump is still not profitable.
It's the valley. People learn and move on. Same for Hsu and same for the people working there. Most importantly at what price? In this case it's 1.5M and a whole lot of reflecting.
FYI Nimblebit ripped off others before they had Tinytowers.
There's a few ways that they can patch this. I'm assuming that there's some sort of auth process in place for their http calls and this could simply be a case where this particular endpoint missed the auth.
Or they're simply blocking the whatsappstatus's ip and a fix would actually require both client side and server side changes.
But honestly its just a messaging app and how many people really cares if "let's go grab a beer" is encrypted or not.
The wizard says: "Go away and come back tomorrow!"
Why isn't anyone testing candidates' ability on reading and working with existing code? I do that all the time with interviewees.
Why I do that? The obvious being the potential hire is required to work within a large code base (often code not written by yourself) and having the ability to read and understand quickly what a piece of code does is a great skill that not many great coders have.
This is a silly advice.
Call yourself whatever you want, if the project was completed above my expectations, I'll gladly pay you whatever you asked for for the next project.
Were you fully vested?

Being in the app business for more than 2 years, like any other business, there's a cycle. It's a definite trend that mobile ad spending increases towards the end of the year and so publishers will see higher CPM and more impressions. Come January, that bump in ad revenue might reverse and newbie developers could be in for a surprise drop in their ad revenue.
The key metric to measure is DAU, and checking that you are generating more impressions from more active users.
What's the point of "This."?
That is why ideas are many but execution is key to a success of a startup. There are many ways I can see Parse getting to a size that of Heroku.
You may not see the potential and that's because you have no idea of what's coming up and I'm sure the founders at Parse have that piece of information and it's going to be at least a $200M exit if they execute to their vision.
Stay in school.. I can't imagine why you guys are dropping out of school to "start a dating website". That said, good luck and I'm sure will learn a lot.
What's the point of these kind of announcement when there is no data to back it up? They could have just as well made this up and there's no third party measurement that can validate their numbers.
Rovio is just milking this cow to the max and until they announced or released another hit game, it's all a show.
"It’s a damn tragedy. I’m not an expert in JavaScript"
Hell yea, the valley's full of smart kids who don't know what the hell they're doing with JavaScript and thinks they're one hell of a hacker when they discovered that they can do shit with a few lines of JS and trumpeting on the how great NodeJS or whatever the greatest and newest shiny framework out there.
If you don't really understand scoping in JS, please don't use node and hit yourself on your foot and then blog the cool shit out of it.
I'm just saying, no hard feelings. :)
You can be an entrepreneur any where in the world. Why does it have to be in the US?
And you are a cloud expert as per your LinkedIn profile..

Nice .... .... ...I think the fundamental differences between Dropbox and iCloud is the sharing feature and Windows/Linux/Mac/etc support. iCloud is never going to be on Windows and our company uses Dropbox to share project resources and our machines are a mixed of PCs and Macs so iCloud means nothing for us.
Kudos for working on Gameboost over Startup Weekend but the ideas is not new. Google in-app game rewards and you'll find out http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=safari&biw...
