I worked for a company around this same time that had servers in the NJ Exodus data center. Used to have to head up there once a month to swap out tapes in the Sun L11000.

Ditto. Sure, price increases suck, but a quick perusal of how many Prime-eligible items I've ordered in the last year would still put me way ahead even at $99/yr.

It's because DO only offers internal/private networking in their NYC2 datacenter and thus not available in the AMS center.

I used RamNode for a bit last year, but left them for DO after dealing with RamNode's servers getting DDoS'd constantly.

While I'm sure it happens with DO as well, at least there I don't feel like they're active participants in the various VPS provider feuds that you see all the time over at LowEndBox.
