Quick judgments and strong opinions have unfortunately become part of the community.

Having spent the last 2-3 months working excessively on WordPress development, I would like to say a word about the excellent isolation of code with blocks ("Gutenberg"). As standalone plugins or in combination with Advanced Custom Fields, these allow for perfect, modular websites and development flows (design system), where even the HTML is 100% in your own hands. I can recommend everyone to understand and learn WordPress properly.

New list prices for cloud products

We're increasing list prices for the following cloud products:

These changes reflect Atlassian's commitment to creating more innovative products to connect your teams and boost their productivity. Quick overview of the stack: - Remix React Application with Server-Side-Rendering (TypeScript) - Supabase Backend & Database (Postgres) - AWS Serverless Functions for batch-processing & fronted delivery - AWS Cloudfront as CDN

They're already too successful, if that customer support doesn't change we're migrating to other providers and diversify our hosting environment.

BTW – we always designed everything that there is no heavy lock-in on any provider, I would recommend that anybody else as well!

Good question! AWS is currently getting a mess for us.

We're facing an auto scaling spot instance bug (it's definitely one) and we're trying since 3 days to contact anybody from them to get our business back on to the road!

We're now forced to sign-up for a paid support plan. Nevertheless, they already breached the SLA of 12 hours, it's really frustrating...

First thought after 5 years of paying them a lot of money to migrate somewhere else (e.g. Google).

It's always ciritcal if you lose your customer contact by implementing strange support barriers to earn 3$ more.

A not anymore happy AWS customer

Amazon has more possiblities to run a really huge cluster and balance the different load peaks of the search nodes. The whole business model of AWS is based on this... but you're right as well, price isn't everything and comfort worth money. And yes, I love RDS as well, especially Aurora... it's a great deal!

This new aws service offer is really boring, I don't see a real advantage migrating to it anytime soon.

What will be the expectation here:

- Autoscaling functionalities out of the box

- Better speed than on regular EC2 instances (I/O, Network)

- More visiblity, better monitoring out of the box (e.g. Marvel)

- Lower pricing than running on plain EC2

Still a long way to go here...
