I only upvoted to read the comments. I don't really think that the state of american public opinion is due to KGB subversion. I think it's because of the normal culture rot happening to any nation. In US's case the rot looks so dramatic because it's the most powerfull and rich nation in the world.

I don't remember who said it, but there's two things you can't really accept from a brother, their glory and their death.

Not 100% relevant with the original post, but reading it reminded me of it.

I quit caffeine 5 years ago

I tried many time to stop coffee and tea and for one year now I am sober. I am very happy with my decision. I feel much better and much less anxiety

I don't understand why you are downvoted, because you are right.

Conducting a successful career is also very hard. Let alone a successful marriage! Or getting fit, loosing weight.

You want to build a company? Just do it. It's not harder than other things in life.

Edit: some words.

The Magic Leap Con 8 years ago

This iPhone analogy is full of crap. Apple delivered the fisrt iPhone with the software it needed to be, in itself, very usefull! The app developers came after, when a user base had already been created.

This is very impressive that someone would take the time to experiment an document so thoroughly this product. I am thankful because I find this very interesting and I always thought of Magic Leap as vaporware.

In this world we live in, not being profitable does not equate to disappearing.

Also Microsoft is basically competing with the entire industry on some level, so I do not see how them buying Github could be a good thing.

I had the Touch Bar 13" MacBook Pro and this actually is a f*cking piece of shit. The battery life is laughably low, the Mac itself is slow. The Touch Bar is a failure. Even the form factor is horrible (to me) and the USB-C ecosystem is close to inexistant.

I gave it to an new employee bought a refurb 2015 MacBook Pro and I am so delighted now.

What is a Dog? 9 years ago

I never was a dog guy. Always had cats during childhood. I used to find dogs scary and stinky. But then, at 38, a few years ago, I suddenly needed a dog. What was it? The kids growing older? Me, getting older? I don't know. But I wanted a dog. I contemplated the idea for one year. And then I adopted a dog from a shelter. Greatest thing ever. A dog is such a great companion. They say that a dog will make you laugh once a day. It's 100% true based on my experience.

I think individualism is a respectable philosophy. Thank you for sharing this article.

I think however that a reasonable person would also consider that social policies may have great benefits for herself as an individual.

For example:

- If stupids don't have access to war weapons, maybe it will be more difficult for them to mass murder ME.

- If the stupids have to vaccinate and can get healthcare, maybe they won't spread viruses and diseases to ME.

- If the stupids have a degree maybe they can create value instead of ruining ME through welfare taxes.

I feel this is one thing that differentiate the European political cultures and the US political culture.

In Europe I feel we do better understand that people are stupid (in general). They won't insure their health, they'll kill you for $50, they won't pay the price for an education.

That's why we don't have guns, we have mostly free healthcare and universities.

In the US, I feel you guys hope or would like that people would NOT be stupid and do smart things on a general basis.

But that's not the case.

What if all side of the US political system could agree on this? People are fucking stupid, let's make more rules and put more systems and programs in place that take this into account.

I traded on Poloniex once but they stopped withdrawal on Monero and would not answer. Finally they processed the withdrawal like a week a later. I am not using this platform anymore.

Currently I am using Bitfinex and it's working pretty well!

I'd like to see the reasoning behind this claim that one cannot compare smaller countries with bigger countries.

A strong counter-argument would be economy of scale (in education, healthcare, defense...) for example.
