It's been trained on some of the best artwork. Various artists have been told their artwork looks like AI, meanwhile it's actually the other around. Already in the app stores there are many games full of AI art that the average person without an artist's eye probably can't see the difference compared to something a human made.

I think art is very different from other jobs, it's more like the soul of humanity. When we look back through time, we mainly look at the art and what it can tell us, only a niche portion of people will care about the other things.

I've had the same experience but with drawing. What's the point when AI can generate perfect finished pieces in seconds? Why put all that effort in to learning and drawing something. It's always been hard for me but it used to feel worth it for the finished piece, but now you can bring a piece of computer art into being with a simple word prompt.

I still create, I just use physical materials like clay and such, to make things that AI can't yet replicate.

It's interesting how this conversation about free speech on twitter really only came up after Elon Musk took over, even though it was terrible before Musk. If you had opinions on certain spicy topics that went against the American Democrat left you would be suspended until you removed the post or banned. There was even the "Twitter Files" which documented some of this.

It actually seems more open to me now, only that people who got used to being able to ban people they didn't like so they left. Yes, Musk does things are suspicious, but overall I've found the experience better, as someone who holds moderate views.

It's usually used to mean identity politics, isn't it? The origin of the word has it's roots in racism, but now it's come to basically mean all forms of identity politics.

I use twitter a fair bit and haven't seen any disruptions - though I use it only in browser, maybe the app has seen some. It seems like only the Spaces part with Trump was overrun and not working which does make Musk's claim seem sus but they got it rather quickly working anyway. Ever since Musk took over there has been an insane amount of doomposting about twitter but it's still going fine.

Humans in cities have also got used to the noise. Go from a quiet forest or rural area in the middle of nowhere to a city or residential area where you have cars, trains, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, air planes, loud barking dogs, etc. It's shockingly noisy. It's surprising that people don't want to do more about the noise pollution but it seems many just got used to it.

It's easy to look back at history and build a simple narrative, but during that time a lot of art was being made even by amateurs and people without much money. And the majority of drawings and paintings that are done are going to be lose to time and only the most well cared for survive. And then there are different types - pottery, basket weaving, etc. In several hundred years, the majority of art created now will be lost and people will be able to create a simple narrative about the art of our era as well.

X/Twitter has the "following" tab which avoids this problem, but I personally only use lists and have my main one bookmarked. I've done this for years and wish other platforms had "lists" like X. It avoids this problem and makes it easy to organize by topic.

Hands are completely different than genitals. There is reason why being exposing oneself in public is a crime. No one who didn't consent should be a part of someone else's fetish. It's not simply about being a "prude" although there is nothing wrong with being that either. There are many women who are traumatized by getting sent dick photos, it's intrusive and disgusting and the people who send them know it.

It's not the same thing. These are people who strived their whole lives to learn to draw and paint and make something of their own. It's not just their livelihood being stolen, it's their own work. They aren't saying not to use generative AI to make art, they are saying they don't want their art to be used to train it.

Artists are still needed to make input for AI, they aren't completely replaced by a machine.

It seems like all the buttons on the keyboard can be used to tap and are toggles.
