Folks, thanks a lot for all your comments. Let me try to respond to some questions that were raised:

She has a LinkedIn profile, with relevant skills highlighted.

She is not active on Github yet - that will be her focus now. She was focusing on sites like HackerRank and CodeEval so far.

If she finishes any projects, we will definitely post it to HN for feedback.

We are trying to find more “back to work” sort of programs - a lot of banks seem to have them, but the cutoff date for applications seemed to be the end of last year.

We do have friends working in the industry, but most are at large companies where it’s hard to bypass HR and go to the team required, or companies where hiring is currently frozen, and so on..

We are going to try to find Hiring Managers to talk to or have a coffee with - if any of you guys are looking to hire an highly competent Python/Java programmer down on her luck, or would just like to talk, she’d love to talk to you over coffee anywhere in the Bay Area. I've applied 5 separate times with Magic Leap in the embedded systems domain over the last year, without a single response - no rejection letter, nothing other than an automated acknowledgement that my application was received. My background matched the job description at least 70-80% in every single case - I'm not sure why the responses are lacking. I would very highly appreciate it if you could somehow try to get my application to the right person or department. The reason I'm this persistent is that I actually think Magic Leap is doing something amazing, and would love to be a part of it.

I've sent you (email in your profile) two separate emails regarding this since the last "who is hiring" post for August, and I haven't even received an acknowledgement. It'd be great if you could let me know if my application is even being reviewed - I am actively interviewing with other companies currently, and whether I get to interview with Magic Leap would influence my decision with the others.

Wonder how long it's going to take for the application to be approved once it's submitted. Also, what restrictions are going to be present with working on the EAD? Is it unrestricted? STEM only? Will the same rules apply as if the EAD was received by the spouse after an approved I-485?
