This is a big event for not just Paras and myself, but many in the team :)
Maintaining the common travel area between the UK and Irish Republic Tariff-free trade with the EU A customs agreement with the EU Continued "practical" sharing of intelligence and policing information "Control" of immigration rights for EU citizens in the UK and UK citizens in the EU
Correct me if I am wrong but aren't these the things they get by being members of the EU? That is why they paid fees to have all this stuff that benefits them, right?
Honestly, when did the world start getting run by petulant children in the form of old white people? Over here we have The Golden Tariff that is destroying stocks because they pissed him off.
I head VWO and let me explain this here. We were billing some of our customers from our subsidiary. We have now decided to consolidate all our accounts into our parent entity and hence we are moving the payment gateway for these customers. There are no issues with Security or Data, and we are only moving between two accounts of the same payment gateway.
Thanks Sahil.
I do completely agree here. I don't know why people prefer hiding their email IDs and friends lists, comments they have made and things they liked. Having said that, I might have to make my privacy settings more strong if the Facebook Graph Search turns something like http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5100679
Unfortunately I don't think I can.
If theoretically there is a -1 button, where exactly are you going to use it :)
Thanks Trung, good to see you on HN :)
I don't see that happening. With Google+ around and Google still pressing on it, I don't see facebook allowing google searches from within their app.
Another issue I see with my LG TV with similar smart remote (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4sysDhtezk) is that I can use it to toggle on big interfaces, but when it comes to checking emails / playing music with smallish interface buttons, getting the remote to point exactly where I want from a distance is a challenge. Ofcourse I want to cover the complete 42" TV screen within 2-4" motion from my remote from 7-10feet away
I once (many years ago when I was still learning HTML), coded a website locally and it had a few links to http://localhost/. My apache was set to auto run at system boot and hence the local site was always available to me. I hosted it to internet but for many weeks didn't realize the broken links. It was all good and fast for me. Guess I was not alone
Agentzh is doing some super impressive work with nginx+lua. Openresty is a very interesting project with tons of features over standard nginx and is highly recommended
agentzh is a great mentor. He has helped me number of times, often looking at my configurations and getting into my systems and tweaking things around to make them work. He even installed the powerful openresty on one of my machines to demonstrate how it can solve my problems and did some benchmarks for me. Respect to agentzh!! cant wait to see it evolve from here
Very nice. I would expect a provision to upload (or add URL of) an image and test it on the demo page before downloading it and using it on my website.
The service might be of use but my concern is the latency. If I need to use the location variables (in my headline etc), they must be available to me ideally before the body starts. If they are doing a MaxMind lookup or any lookup of IP from a database, they are not serving cached content from a CDN and hence bound to have more latency then I expect from a library.
If my site is big enough with world wide visibility that it needs custom locations, it bet to be fast also
Hey Howard.. Good to see you here.
Last thing someone wants after a post which it #1 at HN. :(
and he often beat me :)
It looks very promising and definitely should solve a big pain for me, but when I tried getting more information about what it will do, I got loads of 404s. All learn more pages on http://www.taskforceapp.com/guide are 404s along with several others on the website.
Apart the site looks good, but when you move between pages (try homepage and guide page), you will realize that the top bar moves vertically by at least a few pixels. I am sure you guys would want it to be consistent.
Waiting for an invite.
Hi Niyazpk, The reason Wingify decided to have a separate name Visual Website Optimizer for its A/B testing product is because we have plans to roll out more website optimization tools in the future.
