This total control decision is why a container approach (give power to wipe what is the container only) to enabling corporate data is one I favor.

I surprisingly have very little choice when it comes to the internet. Comcast is basically the only real choice as they blow away DSL speeds, and then that's that. No one else serves me as a consumer. And this is San Francisco! I think this is why municipalities are starting to get into the ISP business, which seems to be the only credible way to start actually giving these guys some kind of threat

San Francisco is a city where red tape, bureaucracy and the people will not allow another local access provider build.

If San Francisco decided to build a municipal fiber network, they would be sued into bankruptcy by the ISP’s.

Domestically, this is called a tariff. The local carriers file them with the local public utility commissions. They are all posted publicly and outline the service, capability, features and customer costs.

Someone here probably knows, but I am sure any service provider (LEC, CLEC, Municipality) has to file tariffs in order to get approval to deliver service.

AT&T and Netflix signed an interconnection agreement, so LEC three must be CenturyLink (who also announced a 1Gb broadband trial in Portland)

This is a valid concern. Another issue with outsourced sales people is the fact they are out for themselves first. Sales people are coin operated... and you want them this way. However, you must be careful and shape the way they are paid to align with your business goals.

As a start up, you may be better off hiring a direct marketing company where you can align their focus to your ideal customer profile (assuming this grows as your product develops). You pay them to set appointments at the correct title/level (which is 90% of the work in sales) and you use your dedication, enthusiasm and knowledge to get the deal closed.
