If this is confirmed, it looks like no *signed* app or installer distributed outside the Microsoft Store gets instant SmartScreen reputation anymore. This effectively kills the entire EV code‑signing certificate value proposition. Over the past few weeks, we've been seeing inconsistent SmartScreen warnings for our apps that previously had stable reputation via Azure Artifact Signing certificates. Nothing changed on our side. This would also neatly explain why Microsoft support has been oddly silent and unhelpful on our tickets. If instant reputation is now Store‑only, that’s a pretty major platform shift that doesn't seem to have been clearly communicated.

"We have books made 500 years ago that look freshly printed, but we don't know how long electronic formats will survive. Today's computers are not able to read prehistoric floppy disks. All that is said is recorded, and knowing it is recorded, we don't feel any more the need to remember it"

I fully on agree on all the points and I try to protect my home (network), but I feel that’s a lost cause both from technical (e.g. dns on http/3) and psychological (more subtle and mixed with the actual content) aspects. My only hope is to try to digitally vaccinate my kids that they become more self aware on what they are exposed to.

You are not alone :-) I live by this very paragraph, as well as the last paragraph of Solaris by Lem:

“I had no hope. Yet expectation lived on in me, the last thing she had left behind. What further consummations, mockeries, torments did I still anticipate? I had no idea as I abided in the unshaken belief that the time of cruel wonders was not yet over.”

This microphone is actually from the same Sennheiser. Sonova uses Sennheiser brand for producing headphones. Microphones and business solutions are still made by the “old” Sennheiser.
