ChatGPT image is a lot more aesthetically coherent when I do a layman's test between Gemini and ChatGPT (both through their chat interface). It just breaks down in subsequent editing (around 3-4 editing prompts). That is to say Gemini also does the same, but I felt it degrades more gracefully in subsequent editing runs.

Wix too. Very interesting that founders of Waze and Wix have Unit 8200 pedigree and Wiz co-founder was part of an elite recruitment program in the IDF. On account of the mandatory draft, it was bound to happen but those three companies have very similar names as well.

It still has issues with sleep still. It just borks the wi-fi now. Need a restart to use the internet again.

Probably institutes teaching IT stuff. They used to be popular (still?) in my country (India) in the past. That said, there are plenty of places which train in reasonable breadth in programming, embedded etc. now (think less intense bootcamps).

I couldn't play Wolfenstein because it got too intense. I took a multi-year break from video games and I like what I see, but many FPSes are just too intense to me with its sensory overload. I get the appeal of Fortnite and other Battle Royale style games though, they got that sweet spot of competitiveness and ease of getting into them perfectly.

My experience with mastodon was the same for a while until Elon took over twitter. Now I do see discussions on stuff I care about although I am starting to see discussions regarding the threat of Meta federating with some big instances of mastodon.

This post made me finally uninstall Instagram from my phone. Though the network effects makes it difficult to completely chuck it from my life. The exodus of my peer group from fb made it possible for me to delete it completely from my life and don't need it anymore. I hope something like that happens for instagram too. It was not for the lack of trying. I tried hard to transfer my friends and family to Signal and was unsuccessful. So now I'm waiting for the forces of nature to take over and hope that something miraculous happens and something that doesn't weaponise human mind takes over instead.

I have faced the problem in steroids in India, where there are 22 scheduled languages. While I can read 3 local languages, one cannot be expected to know every single language in the general area. Keeping my computers in English doesn't help, changing the languages to the one that I can actually read doesn't help. It is sad that Google has harvested enough data about me to make a highly accurate profile of mine but can't be arsed to make usage of their products a little convenient for me by just respecting my language settings.

Counterproductive IMO. Blocking ordinary Russians from the world would be akin to creating a Russia sized analogue to N. Korea with much better weapons and industrial capacity. Virtue signalling by banning anything that carries the name "Russian" is a childish response when there are citizens of Russia protesting against the invasion and risking arrest and violence thanks to the state and economic ruin due to the sanctions from Europe and the US.

The 20-30 Mbps speeds are restricted to some areas. Urban areas such as Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad enjoy great speeds in broadband as well but for the majority of indians, reasonably fast and cheap internet connectivity means Jio. Also, the 20-30 Mbps speeds are not the norm outside certain areas but they have been able to cover a reasonably large part of the entire country.

Ads for lawyers have ridiculously high prices in Adwords. Since my first job was in a firm that handled marketing for personal injury lawyers, I had an impression that adwords was really expensive and ws wondering why the ads were so ubiquitous for low revenue businesses too.
