I've been playing with toggle (www.togglemobile.co.uk) as it covers more countries than Tru. They use their parent's MVNO network (Lyca Mobile), and actually manage decent prices in a number of European countries (and free incoming calls in a number more around the world).

The data offering isn't as wide spread, and they currently only offer per MB outside UK; but still a better deal than roaming.

I would say it the other way around, they got snippy so I got snippy.

I do think there is a relationship between how over worked the are, and how friendly they are. The Regent's St. store in London is mobbed whenever it's open, hence the poor treatment. The other store I've been to is in Stamford, CT. where my interactions have been much better - not as good as yours with getting comps, but certainly I left feeling happy.

This is too bad really, as the Regent's store is more of a flagship store, and that's where things should really be working.

I agree, it works well for me. I'm abroad 11 months of the year. This setup permits me to receive calls on a US number without paying international fees - even better it is now the number that all my contacts already have.

Also, the porting option works too. Again, for me, being setup with google voice means I can land in the US and see which provider will give me the cheapest PAYG sim card for the next week, buy it and not have to maintain a relationship (i.e. minimum balance, usage, or monthly bill) with them to keep my number when I leave again.

I don't think it is for everyone, and you need to think if it's right for you. Alot of the upside (voicemail transcription, etc) can be had without moving your number. For those of you who do decide to go ahead with it, it's a fairy easy process from my experience.

great idea - planning on giving it a whirl...

it seems people are liking the deal - not your page - hence (as of right now) 6 likes for the deal and 10 for the page? this brings up the question of who gets the user data - i.e. if you're emailing them and after the deal is over the liked item on facebook doesn't tie in to the rest of the company's property what follow up can the company do with these sales leads?

might be worth chatting with a lawyer on this - I know that pictures on CVs in the US are frowned upon due the the discrimination they may cause (age, gender, race, etc); how do you ensure you mitigate this risk when passing a video of someone around the office?
