I've found ublock to be the best for both chrome and firefox. Take up much less cpu than adblockplus.

I wouldn't say it's a sad state of affairs.

- ASOS is the Amazon of clothing, shipping internationally. I think it's the number on online clothing retailer in Australia.

- As much as we all hate Wonga, in terms of technology they we're the first fully automated loans company.

- Just Eat (exactly the same as Seemless for the UK) is also an amazing accomplishment for a company/website, uniting thousands of takeaways. (That's what we can to-go restaurants in the UK).

I can't remember where I read this but the font they write on the roads (at least in the UK) when looked at straight-on seems unusually tall, but when viewed from the steep angle of a car it looks normal sized.

I would guess the same is true with these numbers, when a pilot is taxing around the runway the font won't look as tall because of the extreme angle of viewing from the cockpit.

You're talking about a very small number of people who will update the way you described.

Most Firefox users will update by having Firefox automatically update in the background and then be prompted to restart.

I just downloaded the latest version (in my language) by going to 'About Firefox' and hitting the update button.

This was my thought too, hand out a set of discount cards (or passbook barcodes) with a moving window from 11:30 to 1:30 on them. If someone doesn't like their time frame, they could swap it with a different employee.

If you'd have ever been into a Dixons in the UK you know it was all about hard selling microwaves and insurance.

Magento does everything if you wade through the data. Like if you wanted stats on... off the top of my head, abandoned shopping carts by region and product, you could.

I think in Shopify you can view how many abandoned carts there are in the orders section, and it's not filterable.

I mean how difficult would be for Shopify devs to add a reports section on stuff like this. Just tabulated data would do, I don't need any animated graphs. It's very frustrating because the data is just out of reach in Shopify.

Edit: I'm not a Magento advocate here, I really really want Shopify to get better quick so I can stop using Magento.

I have repeatedly had clients on a budget choose Magento over Shopify due to a lack of fine grain control.

It's very frustrating that they can release a POS system, however fail at, for example, complex sales reports.

I wish they'd get it together because they would blow everyone out the water.

It's that time of the year again, where you have several minor heart attacks reading through the list of start-ups that might just be one you're about to launch.

On a another note, I have to say one that really stands out to me is True Link. The old-people credit card, my grandad has almost fallen for online scams before and I think all would happily get our grandparents this peace of mind. Brilliant idea that one.

It's payment systems that are supported. Not debit or credit cards.

My debit card is from Visa, and Visa is a supported payment system.

I think that's why he makes a point of saying American Express in the blog post too, it's one of the more obscure payment systems in the UK.

On a side note, I remember my mother, who runs a corner shop, giving anyone who pays on AmEx the evil eye because they have a higher merchant fee in the UK and it takes a few extra days to clear.

I wonder if Stripe UK have the same fees for AmEx...

I've been using the UK beta for a few months.

Honestly, the API docs and Gem are so good you don't need a book.

From sitting down can looking over the docs to charging my debit card for a monthly subscription took about an hour (and I'm not even that good with ruby, if you're a pro you could do it in half an hour I reckon).

Begrudgingly; congratulations. It was my bit of fun app after a serious start-up. The scotch will have to do.
