It would be great if the biggest vendors and mail clients would implement things such as email verification (certificates) and the encryption (gpg or similar), and made it as easy as encrypted chat in iMessage is.
The advice I have for you is to try opening Teams in Firefox or Chrome instead of the Electron app. It seems to be more responsive from what I can tell. The native browser notifications are nicer on my multi-monitor set up too.
It’s always been this way though, we started using it during the public beta, and the performance has not appeared to improve at all.
I’m very curious with what’s going on here... Microsoft of all companies should have the resources to either make native apps for Windows and Mac, or share some best practices from the VS Code team.

I’d love to see search decentralized and have been toying with this idea for a while.
The last concept I hacked together was a custom search plugin for Grav and a command line util to use for querying.
It goes like this.
Use the command line util to search a term. The command line util run that term against the search engine _inside_ of the websites CMS itself. You essentially have a list of sites related to a topic that you chose to execute the query against.
I got this working against some sites and the proof is there. But it’s obviously highly inefficient and I haven’t figured that out yet. :-/
This is a start on cloning the late great Server Admin app from Mac OS X Server into a web application. It's incomplete functionality-wise, but you are able to click through all of the setting panels for each service.

Implementing CSRF doesn’t stop an outside party from finding out that you have (for example) an AppleTV inside your network. The device will still return a HTTP status code. You could legit spy on end users this way. A real boon for ad tech, too.
I left Toledo last year and moved to the east coast. I was one of maybe three of my friends who was left at that point. It could be a really great state, but the dying lake and dying industrial economy really wrecked the place. The area needs serious investment, but I'm nowhere in the position to contribute back like that, so I made the jump.
A thing I like to say is that I am proud that I am from Ohio, but I'm also happy I'm not there now.

I fully expect that the next great ideas of how to do energy production is going to happen elsewhere, because the US keeps shooting itself in the foot and going "well it's expensive and solar and wind and ..." instead of looking at it as an investment that secures our status and capability well into the future.

Shared Albums in the Photos app lets you do just that.
I’ve use PW before and it’s not too bad. The API is really great and so much nicer than working with WP custom fields (etc). The only downside was the back office... a bit dated (looks like something from 2009). The way the CMS works and the thinking behind it are great though.
Grav is cool, if you need PHP you’re good with flat file.
Off topic, but my most fav CMS of all time is definitely Umbraco. It’s built on .NET, but it’s insanely fun to work on.
Between all three if these CMSes, I cringe when I hear “Wordpress.”

This. Trade deals like NAFTA totally destabilized (if not disintegrated) industrialized regions of the US. This may not be the only cause of suicide, but it’s part of the story for sure. The coasts don’t care, they seem to celebrate it. What I think those people are missing is that this disease can continue onward and spread throughout.
I can’t answer for everyone in the Midwest, but from what I saw, no one trusted HRC. And if you were paying attention, it was revealed that politics “is like making suasage,” and that “you have to have a public position and a private position.”
And yes, I still hear a lot of resentment about NAFTA, which is strongly associated with the first Clinton administration. No one trusts that family. The people in this region called BS, not because they’re racist and uneducated, but because they feel that they were betrayed before. When the coasts shouted “racists” at them, it made everyone double-down in their position.
Meanwhile, DJT basically steals the Obama-era democratic platform, makes a stop in their little main-street town and promises the impossible.
Someone else might have a different experience, but this is what I saw and heard.

The problem is that it’s stagnanted over here. NAFTA destroyed the way of life for a lot of mid-westneners. Made people poor. Made want. Destroyed the mechanisms, the entry level, manual jobs, that people used to pull themselves up by.
Municipalities got into a vicious cycle of loss of tax base feeding into loss of services feeding into even more loss of tax base.
For starters, to get an idea of what’s going on over here, I’d recommend you watch both Detropia and Flint Town. Get a little taste of reality and see the people you’re trying to crap on. Everyone here, everyone sees that value and importance of education. Every parent, even in the most down-trodden neighborhoods with the worst schools, wants this for their children. Again, loss of tax base, loss of jobs, increased violence.
Assuming you live on one of the coasts, you’ll get yours. Just wait until the underfunded pension systems finally blow.

It's got a loooonnggg way to go (I never realized how many small but vital details are in a file explorer application), but it's strangely exciting to see it draw itself on modern macOS, especially on a retina screen!
And yes, the spatial UX! I'm still working through getting all of that implemented (I just completed persisting window locations/positioning days ago). I have recently been reading theough some of John Siracusa's turn of the Mac OS X era writings and that's been hugely insightful and helpful. The level of detail (both of the original Finder and his writings) is impressive and sirprising.

Agreed! I think that this behavior may have been one of the truly novel principles of classic Mac OS.
IIRC, you even used to be able to just swap the System folder around and have like a completely new/different install of Mac OS.
You could always replace your usage of the modern macOS Finder with my poor and very incomplete clone of the classic Mac Finder. :)

That's what I don't get about these arguments in support of text editing on iOS. The mouse isn't bound to the physical dimensions of the screen. It also doesn't require you to put it atop/obscure the screen to work, either (unless you're doing something very wrong).
I'm sure there are zippy ways to edit text on iOS, but like you, after using a mouse, hell, even a trackpad, I think it's soooo much quicker using the latter.
