For example, from Philips 2018 annual report [0], I copy the income statement, and I get the below when I paste. I found it impossible to get this into Excel or any other table format, without writing a Python program for it. Your tool still made it as one column. If there's a way you can automatically detect the 3 numeric columns below, you can have a large audience of finance folk analyzing PDF documents.

Just a heads-up, you have your API key in the source code. You may want to consider having a gitignored secret.txt file for the keys.

I have also used Bayesian quantification of uncertainty in pricing forecast models. Decision makers love a measure of uncertainty when one recommends a pricing scenario that can have significant impact on revenue. Also, you get the chance to build multilayer models to combine knowledge from independent samples. PyMC3 is fantastic for building these models within Jupyter and Gelman's Bayesian Data Analysis is a great introduction for different Bayesian model applications.

I agree completely with Maciej points. There is one other factor that should be considered; the more ads served to us (normal consumers); the less our reception to them is thus the new ads need to be more powerful. Only giant companies can fund the creativity and subtlety needed for very effective ads on a large consumer scale; everything else is noise in the consumer mind except for tiny well-targeted niches. Those are the two groups (giant companies and very niche businesses) that will survive the consumer-ad bubble burst easiest.

This is all nice; and as hinkley pointed, Stanford already proposed a better protocol. The primary issue in my opinion is how to trust the JavaScript arriving from the server that it does what it's supposed to do.

In my humble opinion; we need to use the blockchain to save hashes for trusted and open-audited JavaScript files to be confirmed by the user. This, however, needs to be done at the browser level to avoid an endless trust loop with JavaScript/browser extensions. blockstrap.com has figured out how to put file hashes on the chain; so technically it shouldn't be a major challenge to do the first part. The browser part is where it gets tricky!

Same for the Netherlands, a lot of employers reimburse the public transport subscription costs or pay an amount depending on km distance between work and home. That's wherever you live, even if you are more than an hour train ride away.

I am in the same position.. got recently promoted to manage a ~20 person team (analytics not programming). It sucks not being able to do actual analysis/project work anymore and the politics are infuriating.

That said, the experience is very valuable. I am planning to take off to start a company soon so managerial experience is definitely handy (not to mention the extra pay!)

My advice is to work on a technical side project to keep your soul from getting crushed (either at work or personal) and learn from the job till you figure out what you want to do next.
