Wondering why it's such a big deal to set up fast internet in metro areas in the u.s. I got 100 MBit VDSL FTTB for 35€ here in Cologne and I could get about the same speed from 3 other ISPs.
At least you noticed that you were wasting time. But the reason why people keep playing is not because of the others. The others are the reason why they start, they keep on playing because of the fake sense of achievement this game delivers. See Jessse Schells talk from DICE for details.
It runs on EC2, thats probably cloudy enough these days.
I wonder what mindset one in the military must have to shoot on unarmed carrying away wounded. I always thought that at least those people a bit higher up in the ranks had at least some moral values or ethical responsibility. I mean Joe Redneck doesn't get to fly a 20 Mio. $ Helicopter just getting out of basic training.
"Hey this thing X is broken our new product solves all problems and is superior in any way."
While I too would like to see AMQP 1.0 rather sooner than later and despite the open standard there are only a few usable implementations, I doubt that this new and great wire protocol will solve all of AMQPs problems which are located in other areas.
And then suddenly your nice MSSQL database machine explodes, leaving you wondering why you didn't go for a fault tolerant system.
