It's quite disingenious to talk about the failure of Cyberpunk 2077 while discounting the massive success of The Witcher from the same studio

Handshake is more of a solution to a political/governance problem than a technical one.
It's usually much more difficult to increase prices later after you've gathered more data. The Web is a much bigger, diverse place today than it was 10 years ago. Start at higher prices as a rule for [esp for non-technical audiences], measure, tweak and repeat.
It appears the gig economy will be remembered as the last stand of humans before the machines took over.
I find it interesting that feedback like this still abounds (and for good reason), considering the many tools and frameworks and services available online today. Apparently the field for delivering another tool or service continues to remain green :)
Lots of emotional comments with the usual I-hate-MS bent, without a single reference to data showing Azure [Linux VM] users or non-users. Always shocking to see individuals who claim to be rational and open-minded in one domain become irrational, closed and judgemental in another.
Interestingly, I've been learning Go by reading the goethereum codebase. Any more awesome codebase pointers would be appreciated too. Thanks all.
I'm learning Go for working with distributed systems and blockchains, but I'm basically another C#/.NET dude. Apart from the requirements to follow and maintain certain Google Guidelines, I don't mind the language to be honest. Looks neat to me.
I was going to ask why AWS Lambda was not used instead. Or any other serverless offering from the major cloud providers.
Great. So what does this rejection accomplish based on your premise of having written software that has been repurposed by evil actors? Dan's GPS coordinates at any time t does not affect whether he writes code that will be used for good or evil, so what gives? :\
Completely agree with this. Based on historical cycles, we're probably heading into even more protectionist times ahead.
Regarding Daniel - like others here I'm sure it's because cURL has been used extensively for bad purposes he was kicked off the ESTA program. Yes it sucks that they didn't let him know in advance, and they didn't have the smarts to figure that he had nothing to do with the bad actors.
Very strange paragraph right there. I could easily generalize this to Windows powershell is increasingly being used in cyber offensives by non-state actors, let us eject Microsoft from the United States
A differently sounding username would have at least helped your case. :)
Even if Windows kernel security is more robust, anybody can easily fault you for some form of cognitive bias. I use Windows, therefore Windows is more superior.
I'm quite certain that BTC/ETH/SHM-TC fundamentalism and bigotry has no place here. Try Reddit bro.
Well, at some point, you reach your limit in shares, so...
I'd rather geek out at Quantopian, than play latest-tech-buzzwords with these guys. Definitely, a sucker game.
How despicable really. Checked a16z's portfolio and there's no company by that name. Checked Google Play for their alleged app, zilch.
Depends on how you see it though; the most impactful stuff is not necessarily the most reported in the media. As always, the media lags these things and so the public don't get to see shit coming.
My thoughts exactly. That 20% will probably provide you with a map of Russia while you're flying over the Swiss Alps. Some things are better not learned (or known) at all than learned (or known) the wrong way.
You like Apple's hardware but not its OS. I think there are better compromises out there, but of course, feel free to do your thing.
Microsoft CNTK. Originally Computational Network Toolkit. Abbreviation remains but now Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit.
Why not run it on a new box?
I've had a bad experience relying on repositories for my golang install.
I'd rather manage golang the golang way.
Don't know what the HN abbreviation, IANAL, means but in my ignorance it just looks quite distasteful. :\
I don't understand it either. I can't begin to list the comforts and options that come from being rich. Guess we all know. There's really no alternate reality where it's much better to be average and have little or no options.
I usually take the view that I'd listen more to you if, to prove your point more empirically, you got reasonably rich and then just decided to give away all your wealth and resign to some lonely cabin in Maine.
There's a genuine reason why machine learning seems to be the Holy Grail - man has dominated this planet, solved his problems and overcome challenges by his intelligence (ability to learn and adapt). Bequeathing these same abilities to machines is a big deal and might be the solution to everything.
I don't think we have enough information (or even the professional capacity) to advise you wisely for the best expected return. So many unknowns here; for instance,
what d'you mean by ex-founder and by what corporate action or process did you come to attribute this title to yourself?
Why have you held your shares till this time?
Why are you skeptical of the future of the company? D'you have a personal beef with the hardball CEO or is the company really doomed in your opinion?
Who approached who (I mean you or your hardball CEO) to leave the company? To be clear, did he notify you of their intention to raise money and ask that you sell off or did you hear that they're about to raise money and then decide that you want out?
I basically outline what's important to the business (per development cycle and complexity) and try to stick with frameworks whose devs are explicitly wary of breaking changes.
Based on these, my stack is simply React/Redux on the front end.
Disclosure: full-stack, technical co-founder.
I fail to see how the UK's policy is better. For starters, its a government policy which can be revoked at will. Change.org is a for-profit entity whose objectives are clear and cuts across government and private enterprise.
I think we're making a bet on the raw value of compute trending to zero.
I'm thinking you mean the COST of compute here. If that's the case, I actually disagree on cost trend direction. I think the raw cost of compute will slowly increase. Long story but most of it borders on the economics of cloud computing.
