I'm a full-stack developer living in Houston and working at an advertising agency in New Orleans, LA.

In my day job, I primarily work with WordPress, Expression Engine, and a custom GluePHP/PHP-ActiveRecord/Savant3|Handlebars framework.

I run a few side-businesses:

• Send To My Cloud allows users to create a webpage where their users can upload content directly into their dropbox. https://SendToMyCloud.com.

• Private Forms, that allows users to create webforms, with PGP-encrypted submissions. https://PrivateForms.com.

Some other side-projects:

• http://artpacks.org - A History of PC ANSI & ASCII Art, from 1990-present.

• http://aboutbrowser.com - A troubleshooting tool that allows users to easily share their browser info (version, plugins, features & CSS capabilities) with developers.

Not sure how you define "first class" but:

Do you support WhatsApp, Messenger and Signal?

Yes we do! These also work with push notifications via MicroG or Google Play Services to ensure you get instant updates!

Do you support X app?

In general, we support almost all apps that work on Android, only really having difficulty with banking apps or digital id apps (due to Google Play Integrity Check). We ship with either Aurora store or Google Play Store to have full access to the apps on the Google Play Store

I bought a trashcan Mac Pro on a whim last week ($120 in eBay!) and did some reading about them—it turns out people recently started using the GPUs to run models @ 20-30 tok/s.

I'm excited to get my mitts on it on Friday when it finally arrives.

Here's some of the resources I came across if you're interested in reading.

https://matthewgribben.com/blog/mac-pro-6-1-llama-cpp-firepr...

I use these USB-C rechargeable batteries in my travel kit, too. I love the flexibility of being able to pickup some AA/AAAs, charge the ones that just died, or swap in the 2 spares I travel with.

Hah! I often keep a few 1-3 week-old sports podcasts around as a sleep aid.

I find that outdated previews/predictions of events that have already happened is the perfect thing to get me to doze off.

I think the 2 weeks of heavy speculation about where Giannis Antetokounmpo will be traded to has me set for another month.

You almost always need wrapper elements to group elements you want to align together for presentation purposes only (e.g. "a vertically centered row containing one paragraph next to two vertically stacked images"), so there often aren't semantic HTML tags that would make sense.

I'd argue that a lot of times those groupings are meaningful.

AI gets better with more resources. Even if you have access to the software/models, those with more money to throw at better hardware (and the cost associated with running it) will be better positioned.

I wish we had a good way to solve for that.

You can run iOS apps on an Apple Silicon Mac if the developer doesn't explicitly prevent you.

having their literacy degenerate to such an extent that they stop using alphabetic / phonetic writing systems and revert to pictographic or ideographic systems

What about reverting to referencing moving pictures?

Or was this intended to be self-referential and I missed the joke? :)

ChatGPT 5.2 Thinking for me:

---

Walk.

At 50 meters, driving is usually slower overall (start car, back out, pull in), adds unnecessary engine wear (cold start/short trip), increases minor risk in a parking lot/driveway, and you’ll have to park again anyway.

Drive only if there’s a practical constraint like:

you need to bring heavy items (bucket/cleaning kit) and can’t carry them,

bad weather/unsafe walking conditions,

mobility limitations.

Gemini 3 Thinking for me:

---

Unless you’ve been hitting the gym hard enough to bench-press a sedan, you’ll definitely want to drive.

While 50 meters is a very short distance—roughly the length of an Olympic swimming pool—it’s a bit difficult to wash a car that isn't actually at the car wash.

The Logic Break-Down

If you walk: You’ll be at the car wash, getting some steps in, but your car will still be sitting in the driveway looking dusty.

If you drive: Both you and the vehicle arrive at the destination, which is generally a prerequisite for the "washing" part of the plan.

One exception: If you are just walking over to buy cleaning supplies or to see if there's a long line before pulling the car out, then walking is the way to go!

Would you like me to check the local weather for you to make sure it's not going to rain right after you finish?

If we are using a good definition of "research", I agree.

But we aren't. Research within these contexts is consulting a Google search, a social media search, watching short form videos and consulting a sycophantic LLM.

Signal Is Down 6 months ago

The desktop app has a banner that says:

Signal is experiencing technical difficulties. We are working hard to restore service as quickly as possible.

Status page linked in the post CURRENTLY says the same.
