A stronger conjecture is that we’re heading towards a sort of generalized pseudpocalypse. Perhaps, in the future, if you interact with the world through essentially any high-bandwidth channel, then you identify yourself. Say you wear a mask in public and only speak by sub-vocalizing into a voice changer. That’s fine, you’ll still be identified using your body shape, gait, or chemical signature. Or say you don’t like your car being tracked everywhere, so you stop carrying a phone and you somehow convince lawmakers to ban license plates. No problem, your car will still be tracked using tiny scratches or unique pinging sounds from the engine. Or say you don’t like being tracked on the internet, so you lock down your browser profile, buy stuff only with Monero, and connect through a chain of three VPNs. That’s OK. You’ll still be identified through how you wiggle your finger as you scroll down the page. We’re all just too unique, and the information theoretic limit is coming for us.

Smartest people are very humble, for sure.

But if we really do develop something that surpasses us, they won't be spared either.

I am optimistic.

We think that we have sort of (super)intelligence - from our point of view, as a lot of people have lower intelligence - but machine (LLM) doesn’t have intelligence - we like to describe it as intelligence as it looks cool - it is a very complex (magic) and super fast computations that we have to simply describe as intelligence (or more clearly, this narrative is used by its producers).

As it is not a flesh being, it simply cannot have emotions. It is statistically mimicking them, good or bad, with prevalence to a side according to previous conversations (in chat and training a model).

And as people are not pure logic instances, we are easily manipulated to some sort of cargo cult.

I am not against LLM and its use in any industry, I use it every day, nevertheless blind “everything will be ai” thinking happens because ppl believe to magic and don’t get its mathematical concept and are continuously manipulated by the sales people to mentioned cargo cult.

There are “airlines” Claude, OAI, Gemini, Hermes, OpenCode, KiloCode, DeepSeek, Z.ai.

And everyone claims that their plane can fly :)

It would be interesting to investigate other agents such as Hermes, OpenCode etc that are said to learn from interaction with user.

There is the appealing idea that AI-assisted programming means better tools which lets us build more ambitious software. That is certainly true at the level of the individual and without doubt a developer with an agent will be dramatically more capable of changing a codebase. But large software projects have never been limited only by how quickly an individual can produce code. They are limited by how well people can coordinate their understanding of the system they are changing.
