Do you support a kind of internal "yes, but..." note so that opportunities for improvement can be drawn from the questionnaires themselves and tracked? I always wanted that to be way easier.

Why do people spout such provable nonsense?! Inflation is around the BoE target rate of 2% having just nudged down a touch (consensus forecast for Jan 2019 is 2.1%). Rampant inflation is what you see in Venezuela and Zimbabwe. A moment's thought should disabuse you of this opinion.
Back in late 2015, the UK's growth was around 2.9% based primarily on fundamentals that are largely unrelated to Brexit (IT and software). Those fundamentals haven't changed so there's a high likelihood that growth is dragging due to overall negative sentiment as a result of Brexit uncertainty.
Clear that fog, and growth should bounce back. The fastest way to clarity that honours the referendum result, though many don't want to hear it, is a no-deal departure with appropriate WTO exceptions based on national security assertions (de-risking essential supplies) during an FTA negotiation period coupled with the (already given) assertions on the EU citizens' right-to-remain in the UK.

Only if you actually then invest some time in selling it. I've had radio silence from their sales team when requesting to purchase an self-hosted licence. The one thing I know about Microsoft (GitHub) - they _get_ enterprise sales.

I was quite sympathetic until I hit the mini-bio at the bottom:

Care to elaborate why that's so surprising? Nokia's been investing externally like this for a couple of decades. PayPal (Confinity at the time) would be a good example!
As a Brit I'd just like to say that _that_ is how a country should grasp an opportunity. Rather than the bitchy whining I've seen from many of my compatriots so far!
Just installed this via homebrew. Looks pretty good to me so far. Just a wrapper round the various web versions of the messenger services but saves me pinned tabs in my browser at least!

Is there any plan to allow the service to point at one's own DO or AWS account? That would remove one more privacy concern some folk seem to have.
Well, at some point you have to trust the legally binding contract you enter in to. Otherwise you're proposing to put servers in your garage (or wherever) which is precisely the complexity this service is attempting to get away from.

I disremember exactly where but I recall once reading that Robert Peel, founder of the London Metropolitan Police, asserted that police should be considered as members of the public who were paid to perform full-time the duties that every citizen should consider their obligation anyway.
One can easily make the self-evident case that we "live in different times" or that the world is more violent now (tell that to the Londoners of 1829) but I think there's a beautiful ideal in the original concept that's since been lost.
As a Brit living in the US the difference in policing as public servant vs. public master is quite striking. Not to say that policing challenges and situational contexts don't differ enormously; I'd hate to get into an "our police is better than your police" 'debate'!
Just because you can't see the Nokia logo on the cell towers and base stations doesn't mean we don't make them. I'll take physical evidence and a balance sheet over dumb stuff like this.
The term "institutional buyer" covers a broad spectrum. It's not just the deep-pocketed tech firms that buy smartphones. It's also your hospitals, animal shelters, fast food franchises, etc. Lots of these buyers are going to be looking for value other than app availability such as ease of integration with existing tools, security, and the right price. I don't see my local humane society heading out to the Apple store for a bunch of iPhone 6 Pluses.
I completely agree that app availability is not likely to save Windows Phone. I do believe though that MSFT's ability to push a wide range of capable, corporate-compatible handsets at reasonable price points give the platform as much of a chance at success as it's ever going to get.
Except one of those mature markets is represented by incumbent installations such as governmental departments and big companies. They're pretty reluctant to hand over hosting responsibility of their email and productivity tools to organizations whose business models are based on harvesting the enclosed data for advertising. Given that these institutions buy in considerable bulk there's the potential for the lure of a convenient, secure and harmonized platform to result in a phone market share above that magic 10% figure at which point it starts advertising itself and reaching sustainability/growth.
I like that MSFT appear to be attempting to reinvent responsive design for the native world ;)
It will be interesting to see how, if at all, this dovetails with their SmartGlass efforts as I can see some merit in a framework that makes it easier to split views with a shared model and controller across multiples screens/devices.
