Yubikey advise you to buy two keys and keep one with you and one in a safe space, only used for recovery. That requires the service you use it on to allow multiple keys though, and that’s unfortunately not always the case.

It feels really nice though. They are always exact and all you do is press a button, no lever action needed.

We have that in Sweden. The problem is distributing it. Most energy in Sweden is produced up north, but the infrastructure to transfer it south is lacking which (especially this winter) is resulting in ridiculously uneven kW/h prices in our country.

Between the proprietary plugs and USB-C, we had the dark ages of micro-USB which somehow always came loose after a few weeks of use

I'm typing on an UHK v1 right now. I've been using it for a year or so and I love it. As the other commenter said is just a really high quality split keyboard with great software.

I would really recommend anyone who looks into buying one to also buy the palm rest since it's a pretty thick keyboard. I use a tenting setup and I don't think I would be able to do it comfortably without the palm rests.

A few months ago the key cluster arrived as well - it feels kind of gimmicky though since all I use it for is play/pause/next song and to switch to my chat workspace. Others might have better use for it though. The scroll wheel is nice but I'm already used to the mouse layer on the keyboard, so I seldom use it.

My only gripe is the USB-connection. The v1 uses a mini-USB connection that I felt would be the first thing to break on the keyboard (since the rest of the keyboard feels like it would outlive me), so I soldered one of those magnetic cable heads to the keyboard and bought a few cables that I have lying at every desktop I use, "mag-safe".

"Back in the days" you would either buy an original charger, which the store probably wouldn't have in stock, or buy one of those universal charger with a dozen plugs in which case you would have to be careful to pick a powerful enough charger anyway. You would also have to be very careful to pick a charger with the correct voltage.

Qliro has that too, which I know since somebody bought shoes with my SSN. I don't know if it's a general feature or if you have to contact them, but the functionality is implemented at least.

I've been using updown.io for my side-projects the last 18 months and I'm very happy with the service. One comment pointed out that status monitoring is expensive - I think I've payed a grand total of $5 for these 18 months, so I don't agree at all.

I'm excited as well. But as an earlier discussion pointed out I'm worried that the transition might impact the openness in PCs, e.g. locked bootloaders etc

I stuck with bspwm due to the way config is handled. You just but bash commands in bspwmrc, which runs the bspc commands that does the actual configuration on start. bspwm+sxhkd+polybar is my prefered setup.

I use bspwm daily and the benefit is that you get a predictable behavior when you launch a new terminal or w/e, which is especially nice when you navigate almost entirely by keyboard; you know where the window will spawn.

Isn't Purple for things like camera feeds? Good on writes, bad on reads.
