Hello, I am the lead developer on the OEC. I was brought here by an open issue someone made referencing this article. @articfox you are 100% correct in that the data is factual (or as reported by source) but the text is missing some context. The HS product 3002 does include vaccines and this was missing from the label.
Great article showing some of the complexities in Estonian, really appreciated this breakdown.
I recently worked on a data visualization platform for the trade statistics office in Estonia (https://data.stat.ee) and many of the nuances from this article came up while we were working on the bilingual version of the site.
For example adding prepositions in front of country names, required us to write a custom function taking into account the normal "rules" and exceptions.
Here is the case for Estonia + preposition
From Estonia: Eestist
To Estonia: Eestisse
With Estonia: Eestiga
Between … and Estonia: Eesti ja … vaheline
And now here is the case for the UK + preposition. (notice the extra g added in the from, with and between cases)
From United Kingdom: Ühendkuningriigist
To United Kingdom: Ühendkuningriiki
With United Kingdom: Ühendkuningriigiga
Between … and United Kingdom: Ühendkuningriigi ja … vaheline
Wow! This is a fantastic project. Does anyone know how or if it would be possible to take one of these creations and embed them on another site?

We're a small team driving the interactive graphics portion of the web forward. Turning data into stories and building reusable tools along the way. We believe strongly in design, and focus heavily on the UX of all the products we deliver... speaking of products, here is the most recent site we've built: datausa.io (together with Deloitte and the MIT Media Lab). We're growing in 2017 and need help from both full stack developers as well as front-end designers/developers.
Our stack is currently Python for all data ETL with PostgreSQL DB, ES6 Node.js for back-end and D3 (using our homegrown D3plus lib) for composing reusable data driven visualizations and Sketch for design and UX exploration.

What exactly are the main differences here between this third gen and the previous version?
This is a really great and simple visualization, I definitely enjoyed seeing all the little dots go kerplunk :-)
One minor issue is that I think your Boston (Stoughton) store GPS coords might be wrong. Scrolling through I noticed the point was dropped in the UK somewhere, might be a confusion with Stoughton, Leicestershire.
