Prompting with documentation and examples works. In an agentic tool having an MCP server for the db helps assuming it is a straightforward schema with explicitly defined relationships. Also helps if the tables correspond to entities in a natural way.

Agreed with that. As with writing SQL by hand you have to be very specific with instructing an LLM. There are many ways to get to a solution in SQL all present different tradeoffs and corner cases. I found that people that don't understand SQL and the basic of a given schema produce garbage both by hand and with LLMs

I remember looking at palm webos devices in 2010 and thinking this is cool. The docs on how things worked were really good for the time. The hardware was sleek palm pre if I remember correctly.

I was not keeping track of who bought whom at the time an why. But was surprised when webos got shut down. Android was gaining traction windows mobile on the way out. I bought an old Nokia e63 around the time because I was short on money and I loved the keyboard. The article gave me some nice nostalgic memories.

Yes you can e.g. with the replit app. Quite powerful if you don't have a preferred editor and can stand the haptics of a phone to edit stuff

Same experience. For a while I had to do chrome again because it became unusable on my aging phone and then they turned the ship around.

I am always stunned when I have to use anything else at how unusable some pages are without my extensions.

Just to add another perspective:

Native apps are sticky. As an example a Webshop has no reason to have a native app (likely it is a browser wrapper anyway).

However, being installed puts you right in front of the users noses everytime the unlock the phone. Just look at the discounts that are offered for installing Native apps or shops that are app only to begin with.

Awesome. I recently had similar thoughts and then I was considering all the variations in the android eco system. Lots of times when I am helping I have to just rely ony intuition because I am not familiar with the specific flavour of android used by Samsung or whatever else sonone might have.

I also did something similar for my spring project. The idea was to buy a used car and I was frustrated with the BS the listing sites claimed as fair price etc..

I went the browser extension route and used grease monkey to inject custom JavaScript. I patched the window.fetch and because it was a react page it did most of the work for me providing me with a slightly convolute JSON doc everytime I scrolled. Getting the data extracted was only a question of getting a flask API with correct CORS settings running.

I am one of the likely millions of people that got sucked into python for its accessibility and powerful data manipulation libraries. Granted I started in the mid aughts with web scraping and other stupid endeavours. That user base growing out of matplotlib/numpy later pandas at a time when data literacy got more important is I think the major driver of its success now.

Also does not hurt that it was designed as a teaching language at first. Nowadays reading some of the code that is out there I feel like I have no idea what is going on. Type hints and that way some libraries use it makes my head spin sometimes...

That is too simplistic. You underestimate the depth of academia. Sure the latest break through Alzheimers study or related research would benefit from a replication. Which is done out of commercial interest anyway.

But your run of the mill niche topic will not have the dollars behind it to replicate everyones research.just because CS/AI research is very convenient to replicate does not mean this can be extended to all research being done.

That is exactly why peer review exists to weed out the implausible and low effort/relevance work. It is not fraud proof because it was not designed to be.

For Windows and Mac OS native is clearly defined by the OS libraries that arenpvoded by the company.

For Linux to look very native you need to define the desktop environment. For stock Debian and Gnome desktop GTK bindings will look native. For OpenSuse with KDE QT will look more native.

FYI it does not work on Firefox on Android :(.

Yep using that material makes the breathability suffer. No comparison to other water restiant materials which are worse. If I were in your region I would not buy water restiant shoes to begin with.

Agreed. Usability on mobile is best with the short codes. Even 2 FA is fairly efficient that way as long as the messages are designed to show the code in the preview.

I am also annoyed by this and just resort to an all English office installation most times. However, for the office user market it is a clear advantage. This way anyone can pick up the tool and discover.

I have Blackberry Hub on my phone. I found it only marginally useful at first but it does integrate with all big services (if you have the apps installed) and centralizes the viewing of it. I am not a powers or use it very much but it available maybe you can check that out. Pretty sure there are other 3rd parties that do this little trick.
