What’s wrong with using the metric system?

I ordered one since it cost exactly as much as a 1 year stand-alone perplexity license that it comes with.
I don’t know how they can possibly make money with this but i’m looking forward to having a new toy on my desk and I really like the teenage engineering vibes of it.
Would that not make the situation worse? I would think that having more older people as part of the population means less productivity and a much bigger strain on the health care system.
The company, which is one of the world’s most valuable private companies and owns several other buzzy apps in China, hired aggressively worldwide in the past several years as TikTok grew in popularity globally, especially during the pandemic. It employs more than 130,000 staff.
I cannot fathom how a social media app company would need this many employees to function.
Lee Valley does this for me for anything tools and garden related. The Discover section on their website is excellent for beginners!
I thought it was just me! Trying to control turn signals is beyond infuriating in a Model Y. You would think that this should be part of the functionality that is largely free of bugs..
Setting aside the conceptual criticism, the execution of this badge is also done poorly.
If the goal is to highlight creation by humans, I’m struggling to see how slapping a big fat sticker that says “AI” in large type on it would be a good idea?
All it does is give AI more attention and associates the work with it.
The “No Name” brand does exactly that.
It seems like you might have confused this website with the Daily Mail comment section.
Is this not what re-dress numbers are supposed to solve? Once you get one assigned, you can enter them at the time of booking to prevent problems that might occur by sharing the same name with a known no-fly individual.
I’m in the same boat, also upgraded from the X to 14 Pro just like you. It’s infuriating the amount of alterations it performs without my asking. Also equally infuriating is how buggy the whole camera app has become. Changing lenses uncontrollably, weird glitchy artefacts outside of the main canvas, live photos stutter, the additional “step” it does when showing a photo after it loads which ruins the whole looks. It’s a fall from grace and I don’t understand how Apple thinks it’s acceptable to ship this.
Gift cards are hugely profitable for companies so I can see why they’d be happy to turn a blind eye.
If it has no effect on metrics but removes as major annoyance for users, why would you not have done that in the first place?
When staying at a place for longer than a few nights, hotel rooms are not as attractive as apartments. Having a full kitchen, separate dining/living/bedroom spaces available makes a huge difference. Whilst you probably can get a small hotel room for the same price, I can certainly see the appeal.
Whatsapp had 55 employees and 1.5b monthly users when they got acquired by FB. I very much doubt that the product is fundamentally better now that they are part of a company that has tens of thousands of employees. Same could be said about Instagram I guess?
If it’s Boeing, I’m not going.
Is there any further reading on this topic in particular that is not leading to wild conspiracy theories?
You are confidently incorrect.
From the Montreal Gazette: “The Office québécois de la langue française would also be granted powers of search and seizure without needing a warrant to inspect businesses and ensure they are complying with the law.” This seems to also apply to medical practices.
I just can’t shake the feeling that whenever I have to use Adobe software, it’s trying to do its hardest to make my life miserable.
Creative Cloud is the worst piece of software ever conceived. And why do I have to update the updater to then update creative cloud before I can update an app that refuses to open otherwise? It’s just pure madness and I really wish the market would finally put an end to this and just refuse to engage with Adobe’s malicious pricing and subscription policies.
Figma on the other end, feels like a good friend that has my best interests in mind. Hope it’s going to stay like this for a while.
Afaik this is called Tsundoku in Japanese.
Except all the outrage came from people who never lived in his buildings, and the ones who did gave it overwhelmingly great reviews.
This is terrible advice.
I believe the term for this is ‘percussive maintenance’
You really were unable to come up with a single example of how this outage could have impacted people’s lives in drastic ways?
I invite you to see life through other people’s eyes every once in a while. I promise it’ll be worth it.
Missed the step where the search result takes you to the google hosted AMP version of the page and it takes forever to figure out how to escape that hell.
It says right in the article that they are brothers and have collaborated on some of his works.
Can we just ban Daily Mail articles altogether from this site please? I’m all for discovering all sorts of curious things but this website and its content is just pure garbage.
About 20 years ago, my first synthesiser was a Kawai K5000S. I didn’t really know anything about it but was marvelled by the sounds it produced. Unbeknownst to me I was discovering additive synthesis through it.
Thank you for your comment, it brought back wonderful memories.
Since they are based in Berlin I guess it’s not much of a problem?
