This is probably the least controversial thing Mike has ever written, so naturally the HN consensus appears to be universal scorn. (And for the record, I don’t even like dogs, but I’m also aware that’s a me problem.)

I read the whole thing, top to bottom, and by the 80% mark, I still wasn’t sure whether the piece was written in earnest or the sharpest piece of satire I’ve seen in a decade.

Since it’s an issue of equalizing the perceptual area in the negative space, there’s not really any reason to throw ML at it. Throw actual math at it.

Over 25 years experience in frontend web, searching since July, and the water is as ice cold as I’ve ever felt it. Low response rates, low interview rates, zero offers. Wondering if the backend grass is slightly greener at the moment or that’s just my perception from the other side of the fence.
