I still think 90% of what made UO unique is the fact there was no Google or central repository of expert knowledge. Yes, UOStratics existed, but it wasn't perfect. A lot of the fun was in the fact basically nobody knew the BEST way to play, and therefore everyone was just doing whatever they thought was fun.

This is an extremely widespread issue. I send close to a million emails per month across dozens of different providers (all newsletters.) These are all from high reputation domains and email accounts. We are completely unable to make anything happen with Microslop. It is infuriating.

It’s fantastic and Tesla service has been really good for the one issue I had over the last １２ months. My wife bought a Model Y in 2021 so it’s the second Tesla in the house.

I too have FSD 13 on my CT and use it for 99% of driving with no issues. I have done a number of long city to city drives (30-100+ miles) with zero interventions. The roads would be 10,000x safer if every car was using FSD, even in extreme edge cases like the original post.

Drum scanning is crazy time consuming and expensive. I shoot hundreds (sometimes thousands) of film photos per year and 99.999% of my scanning is done with a camera and a backlight.

Can someone smarter than me explain why astronmers can't stick something like this on the back of an existing geostationary platform (like what is used for the XM radio sattelites) and get amazing data out of them? Surely sticking something like this array 100km into space will yield better results without the overhead of a 20 year mission plan like James Webb or Hubble.

With the economy slowing and a lot of families feeling the inflation crunch I think traditional US and German automakers are going to be in huge trouble when facing Chinese made EVs in the open market. How could BMW sell a 3 series for $30,000-50,000 when you can buy a BYD HAN for half the cost, while it's arguably more luxurious? At least Tesla can fall back on long term subscription revenue from FSD, the rest of the legacy manufacturers are going to be annihilated.

This could easily be sold for $5/seat to giant corporations who want to stick spyware all over their employee workstations.

Ironically this may have been true at one time but Amex is now one of the best card providers to deal with as a merchant as they have a very clear and transparent dispute and then appeals process. Visa/Chase seem to be impossible to win.

You seem to wish to live in a zero trust world model where everyone is out to scam everyone at all times and "caveat emptor" if you do get scammed. We should do our best as a society to not turn into that.

I think most people in the US rightfully have a total disdain for the media. The vast majority of articles are clickbait, propaganda or are outright wrong. Many big organizations (Hearst) have outsourced the majority of local reporting to the third world countries where they can pay pennies on the dollar.

Tiny corp/tinygrad has been working for a year+ and has raised something like $5 million dollars to try to get AMD chips up to speed to Nvidia, without much success. Check out twitter where George Hotz has been very vocal about AMD needing to open source their chips to allow someone to help them get up to speed.
