And yet, I will contradict myself to say that actually, microservices have the potential to be that original vision of object-oriented programming from the 1960s. The fundamental idea is very cheap computational nodes that only interact by passing messages around, with the idea that a recursive design inspired by cells and biology, will >be much more successful than traditional programming where you try to separate data structures from the procedures that operate on them. If your microservice has setters and getters, you're missing the point of this original vision of OOP. You could certainly build a system with 40,000 of these live, but probably you would not have 40,000 different chunks of source code behind them.

Lovely description of the actor model in erlang/elixir and akka :)

My south Floridian side really wants them to be successful, but my techie side despises their secrecy and "demos" aka photoshopped graphics and cgi videos.

I've been living in Miami for about 8 years. I love Miami :) but,

Miami is great but the city overall still depends on the car culture.

Population Density + Car Culture is never good.

The moment people are too lazy that they have to drive one block to get groceries; now thats a problem.

Yea, the Brickell is great and all but I would never live there unless I worked there.

The area has allowed other areas to stay "ethnic" with the expense of poor planning, for me getting in and out of Brickell is a odyssey and I only live 2 miles away.

I can't image what it is for someone who commutes there every day.

Miami lacks the public transportation other cities have developed.

Unless the public transportations keeps up, Miami will just be a vacation home for the rich not the "hub of the Americas" as it is always dubbed.

WhatsApp was pretty cool, I disabled the notifications to message at my own accord.

All was good until facebook bought it.

Now it has annoying pop-up telling me to enable my notifications. I refuse!!!
