Great tool to generate slick wikis quickly. So, if I connect a sheet to polymer then what's the output? the whole website is generated by Polymer which is then connected to a custom domain? A video demo of your tool/dashboard would clear some doubts.

Also, in the no-code tools area, people use Airtable with integromat/zapier, Webflow to make websites. So, in case you do generate the website, then I think it would be make sense to market/target this as a no-code tool too, it would gather interest from the no-code community quickly .

Hey, how do you get the top tweets? Like do you especially filter those out based on no of likes/retweets? Also, do you have discover top threads of a person? Does Duolingo have Spaced-repetition? Spaced-repetition tools like Anki are quite customizable too.

Nice anecdote. Yeah, I have realised that just like everywhere else, virtue signalling doesn't, won't work. There has to be SITG(skin in the game), incentive alignment among all parties involved : now achieve this either via good policy(which is needed for a lot of solutions eg:worked for solar,elec cars), or free market or both.

Also, many policies confuse waste,plastic waste with climate change. There's overlap, but for lower earth temperature, policies are going to make the biggest change, not individuals. And Now I am realizing I got carried away.

Collecting data is not bad, not being transparent/untrustworthy is bad. Now, when these health deals are going on, the companies worry that G will claim data or do something nefarious. And even though I am a Google admirer( enthusiasm has waned over the past 2 years), I also fear that they'll keep making BS moves. My disappointment with Google is mainly due to the cultural changes and the mismanagement, because that was the thing which attracted me to them when I was in grade 9-12, and now in college, I keep getting frustrated by the stupid product decisions in many of their apps( i mean forget messaging, the reminders in Google app/ assistant are a mess). Like it seems some teams are really incompetent.

But, I somehow am really unimpressed by Pichai. I know Pichai, Cook, Satya are the executive types, but of all 3 Pichai seems to have the lowest vision, in every interview he speaks, it's like he's being very careful, like no enthusiasm at all.

personally, I do think that Google handles user data well. some people here might get triggered, but I don't have problem with it. I am talking about the perception problem for Google among big cos, which will impact GCP and Google Health. Though, frankly I hope now these cos realize that Amazon is some trustworthy alternative either(as some corp thought in the mentioned article), Amazon was in a honeymoon period for the past 3-4 years, now with their face recog, Ring etc. the attention has shifted to them.

Yeah. I know they have, enhancing Permissions in Android, making data deletion etc more visible. And I don't think they sell data. Personally, as a student I think they've provided incredible positive value to my life. But I wonder how GCP, Google Health will gain big customers because Google has clearly abused their power in certain areas.

Result of not focussing on trust enough. Google is going to have more of this problem. Google really has a problem understanding the compound effects of trust and perception and dealing with it. By now, they should have taken some concrete privacy enhancing steps which might be made for short-term but good for long term trust, as usage of GCP, G Suite, AR will depend a lot on their trust factor. Sundar is really coming off as weak in this regard.

So, I am a student. Recently started using 1password. 2 years ago, I used Lastpass. It's UI sucked. Even for Logging in, the 2-3 clicks irritated me, since I was distrustful of extensions. After logging in, more irritation. Now, I don't know what changes they've done Then recently used Bitwarden(open-source) for a few months. It was nice, but wasn't enough for me, I have 3-digit # of accounts. I also wanted different vaults for different email IDs. Finally got 1password. And UI wise, 1password is just the best. Just lovely design. I use a combination of Google's Saved Logins, 1password.

Also, the 1password support guy was super super super nice to me. Well, the Bitwarden support guy/gal (i don't remember that one) was nice too.

Speaking of trust, I mean that's quite complicated, right? No matter what justification I give, there is some risk and a lot of technicalities which I am not aware of.

I am also wondering the same. Are their other similar labs either in USA or Canada? I liked MIT Media Lab as they didn't have any sort of prerequisite like Bachelors Degree,IELTS etc. If you have proven yourself in their area of interest then you can apply.

I think Google invests a lot. Look at CapitalG, GV etc. And now within Google itself, 2 projects which I think are aiming to become platforms: Stadia, Fuschia. Personally, I have been disappointed with Google in the AR front. Haven't heard much about investments/ acquisitions. OTOH, Apple has been acquihiring small teams, investing in microLEDs etc. Though, overall Alphabet's investments are much diverse.
